Born August 18, 1951, Jeff Steinberg faced life with little hope - He has no arms and malformed legs. His mother did not know about his disabilities until he was 17 months old; she did not see him until he was almost two years old, in a childrens shelter. He spent much of his early years in hospitals, including Shriners' Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA, where he underwent orthopedic surgery, learned to walk with a brace and was fitted with his first prosthetic arm. At age nine, Jeff was placed into The Good Shepherd Home for the Physically Handicapped in Allentown, PA, where he lived until he was 19 years old.
Through the love of a local Christian couple, Jeff, a young Jewish boy met his Messiah and discovered the truth that became the foundation of his life: "...I am fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 139:14)
Jeff Steinberg is a Masterpiece In Progress - And he wants you to know it! He sees his disabilities as assets, not liabilities. Jeff is a singer, Evangelist, author and a humorist. ." For more than 35 years he has crisscrossed the globe delivering his very special message that that a real handicap is "anything that keeps me from being or becoming all that God created me to be." In his distinctive style, using humor, song and the Scriptures Jeff shows us that each person is wonderfully created in "God's unique design," with potential they never even dreamed possible.
He has shared his message with audiences around the country, performing for television, businesses, schools, churches, and hospitals. Jeff was a co-host on a Television Special, called "The Best You Can Be...The Handicapped Hall of Fame." He was co-host for this entertaining and informative Special along with disability rights advocate, Mary Nemec Doremus. He has performed on "The Variety Club Telethon" with host Monte Hall, both in the US and CANADA; He appeared on "The National Easter Seal Telethon" with host Pat Boone, from Hollywood, California for seven years; and was co-host on the "Memphis Easter Seal Telethon" for four years; and for the first annual "Lehigh Valley Easter Seal Telethon," in 1990 which raised more than $250,000.00 to help people with disabilities. Especially memorable was performing at a rally with Mother Teresa of Calcutta during her 1989 U.S. visit. In addition to traveling throughout the United States, Jeff has performed for the US Military in Germany, Churches in CANADA, the Bahamas & Barbados and to Ministered to people with disabilities in COSTA RICA. Jeff Steinberg has traveled more than two million miles over the last thirty years sharing his unique message.
In 1987 Jeff Steinberg was inducted into the Good Shepherd Hall of Fame for Persons with Disabilities for his achievements in the field of music, for his advocacy for the physically challenged and for carrying the message that everyone is a Masterpiece In Progress.
Ellen Steinberg, Wife, Mother, Evangelist, Teacher and Seminar Speaker brings a heart for hurting women who have suffered abuse, the pain of divorce, financial distress, the trauma of physical disabilities and even the loss of a family member. She speaks to the needs of folks who are hurting, along with the concerns of single parent families. Ellen also speaks on the subject of Prayer. I believe that a daily Prayer relationship with God is not easy and cannot be reduced to a formula for success. An important part of this very special Ministry, she teaches a renewed message of faith, prayer, trust in The Lord; and how The Church can be effective in these contemporary areas of Ministry.
Jeff Steinberg has recorded several Cassettes & CD's projects including, "Masterpiece in Progress," "Tiny Giant" and his new Video Live In Concert!! A Celebration - 25 Years all on his own GlovePrints label. His autobiography, Masterpiece In Progress, now in the third printing with more than 30,000 copies in print, is published and distributed worldwide by New Leaf Press.
The Steinbergs share a unique message of hope, humor and encouragement, inspiration and a special challenge: Youre A Masterpiece In Progress! Youll laugh, youll cry, youll leave with an I can do all things... attitude.
A Steinberg Service is the most fun you can have and still be in Church!

Thank you and Ellen once again for everything Sunday evening in Punxsutawney PA. It was a total blessing much more than I even expected driving up there. Even though I have heard and played "Masterpiece In Progress" many times on/off-air since the 80's, I finally experienced the real meaning of this wonderful song by watching the power point images along with your live performance. I'm so happy that I got all your cd's and dvd while you were here. Listening to "This Land" as I type this message. Keep up the wonderful work. Love you forever.

I am thinking that you forgot my birthday again. I turned 19 last thursday, feb. 7th. I went out to olive garden with my mom and dad, grandmother and a friend of mine sarah that i met at college last semester in my english 101 class. After we ate we took gram home, went back to my house opened some gifts. I got two Rod Stewart concert DVD's and a 50 dollar giftcard to the Hershey Spa from my mom and dad. I got Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3 and Oceans 13 from my grandmother. From my friend Sarah I got a vanilla scented candle, a coffee mug, starbursts and a headband. I also got 20 dollars from my grandmother, my 2 cousins and 25 dollars from my other grandmother.
My grandmother was in the hospital because last wed. she got chest pains and had to take her as an emergency to the hospital. We found out after she was released last sunday that she has CHF (Congestive Heart Failure) and one of her major valves in her heart (The Auorta spell check?). Now she gets physical therapy done at her house and social workers come. My mom is going crazy because of it all.
My dad wants to get his teeth done and my mom is going crazy because of that also. She has to look at all of these different types of plans he can do since he is on disability and all. She is confused and frustrated with everything right now.
She was working at the turn pike commission but quit because she got a job at the east penn middle school that i went to, but quit after a day b/c of all the computer work and everything. She was going to work somewhere else but said she couldnt right now because of all of this.
I am doing good in school. I am keeping my grades up. I have to do good in anatomy and physiology in order to get into the nursing program at hacc. We have our first test in lab and in lecture coming up soon..im scared but i have been studying like crazy so i'm sure that i will do my best and get hopefully an A or B.
Thank you for adding me here Jeff. You were a positive influence back in the early 80's during my dreadful days as a disabled high school student. Since then I have done my very best. I always loved the song "Masterpiece In Progress". I thought for sure that I lost track of you until checking out our friend Pat Boone's myspace profile. Speaking of Pat, his daugher Debby Boone also did some great Christian music back then as well. Hope to catch you later this year in Millvale PA for that Sunday morning service. Keep on doing the Lord's work. Thank You for everything. God will for sure continue to bless you through this life. Have a wonderful week.
Hey Little Dude, I am very impressed that you actually took the time to type me a comment on here! Thanks! Thanks also for giving me the DVD too!! I will send you the picture of my mom and dad as soon as I can. I miss you guys already and it has not even been that long since I've last seen you. Have fun in your travels and tell Ellen hello. I love you guys and I think of you everyday!!
