Lives and works in NYC. Born in Bogotá, Columbia, into an artistic Jewish family,
she was determined, from a young age, to confront the issues of living in an
aesthetically beautiful, but politically and socially corrupt land.
She began painting at 10, and in an effort to develop a unique perspective and
assert her own values and emotions, she resolved to explore the world and
discover more enriching cultures through her travels.
She has been influenced by her experiences in numerous places: Bogotá, London,
Cambria, Rome, Florence, Hamilton, St. George, Ensenada, san Juan, San Pedro,
St. Croix, Martinique, Des Moines, San Francisco, and her adopted home, New
York City.
As a self-taught visual artist, she brings to the canvas a perfect contrast between
earthy art and raw, almost industrial looking abstractions. Stella constructs the
ideal frame for her works. Made
of concrete, each frame gives her pieces a unique 21st-century quality and an
antique, yet futuristic appearance. Stella exhibits her artwork in Manhattan.
About Stella's Work:
Every canvas talks about going to the future with vivid colors, concrete mixed with
oils, acrylics and geometric patterns. Each layer records the history of the work
and almost transports the viewer into the space and time in which the work was
created. Sometimes spanning, weeks, even months or years.
This work communicates a sense of harmony and unity with all particles in the
cosmos and makes one realize how we are part of it. Baroque music is the other
element present in this work. J.S Bach plays while the work is made and serves as
a vehicle in starting the wonderful journey.
Math, anatomy, architecture are connected to the artwork in some way, and the
last part of the process is building the frame. The frame and painting complement
each other. Oils, acrylics and concrete become a solid part of the work giving the
painting an organic appearance. When the viewer is in front of these pieces, they
seem to be engaged with the painting as if the work were telling a story about the
space in time they traveled. Viewers get a free ticket to another dimension
transmitted by color, shape, texture and the linear perspective.
"in my paintings, i continue to passionately express my state of mind with bright colors,
geometric patterns and collages. my recent creations are inspired by music, places, people and the emotions they evoke"

Here is how my Paintings come out of their canvases. This is The Blue Tunnel painting a thought of modern love, a touch of fashion(hey, I'm in NYC) so, they look like catwalk and performance in one piece, Models painted in black and white, walking in a small blue room, my artwork on the wall at the Bauhaus Gallery Opening. "Id like to present installations of one piece everytime I have an opening"

"Being alone is not the outcome of denial, of self-enclosure. Aloneness is the purgation of all motives, of all pursuits of desire, of all ends." Commentaries on Living, Series 1
"There is a difference between isolation and aloneness, between loneliness and being able to stand by yourself clearly, unconfused, uncontaminated." This Light in Oneself
"Only when you stand entirely alone, without technique, without masters, only then can you find truth." Second Talk at Alpino, July 4, 1933
"...the respectable man is the mediocre man because he wants something, he is dependent on influence for his happiness, on what his neighbor thinks, on what his guru thinks, on what the Bhagavad-Gita or the Upanishads or the Bible or the Christ says. His mind is never alone. He never walks alone, but he always walks with a companion, the companion of this ideas. ...Is it possible immediately to bring about that state of mind which is not influenced, which cannot be influenced by its own experience or by the experience of others, a mind which is incorruptible, which is alone? Then only is there a possibility of bringing about a different world, a different culture, a different society in which happiness is possible." The Book of Life, Dec.6th
"You try being alone, without any form of distraction, and you will see how quickly you want to get away from yourself and forget what you are." Unknown source
"Most people are afraid to stand alone; they are afraid to think things out for themselves, afraid to feel deeply, to explore and discover the whole meaning of life." On Love and Loneliness, p. 100
