"Stella Luce bring an old school charm to any stage. The combined presence of Alana Rolfe and Brett Schreiber make up one of the most creative and explosive musical chemistry's in Colorado. The music is extremely passionate and is able to connect with listeners in a personal way. Stella Luce are able to play mature songs with an indie coolness. I'll keep my finger on this band in the next year, as I expect them to blow up the Colorado music scene in a big way."

"Stella Luce's lyrics and musical talent are excelled only by their ability to express a message and give their audiences something to think about."
Nathan Scott,

"Like DeVotchKa, Stella Luce has made old Eastern European melodies sound new again. The fact that this group isn't signed yet is baffling, and is a mistake that I'm sure will be remedied soon."
Stacy Nick,
Coloradoan
"One of more interesting acts to emerge from Ft. Collins recently."

"Quirky, sexy and melodic."

Colorado based band Stella Luce find themselves poised at a crossroads where traditional music collides with indie rock and electronica. Eastern European melodies carried by lush strings intersect with electronic beats, synthesizers, and rock drums to create something both exotic and refreshing. Their sound is simultaneously reminiscent of Portishead and Devotchka.
With the release of their debut album set for the spring of 2009, Stella Luce is being called one of the most innovative new bands in Colorado’s thriving music scene.
The classically trained violist Alana Rolfe leads the band’s sound with her sultry, seductive voice and hauntingly beautiful string arrangements. Her background in folk, blues and bluegrass is apparent throughout the music, adding a vintage feel to even the most cutting edge tracks. Multi-instrumentalist Brett Schreiber adds his uniquely melodic flare to the low end with the bass and cello, and also provides the various acoustic and electronic accoutrements that lend an eccentric, genre defying quality to the music. Rounding out the mix, and laying down the booty-shaking beats that keep the music moving, is drummer and local underground legend Errant Waters. He contributes his uncanny ability to create solid yet innovative beats to any imaginable style of music. Together, these influences create a sound that is often hard to describe, but even more difficult to forget.

That is true. I wish I owned that Jason outfit, but I borrowed it that night from the Dude from the Berserkers. It was his idea to have all the killers dancing around on the floor like that. Sounds like a sweet set for Halloween, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be haunting Laramie that night. You'll have to let me know how the show goes though.
I agree, that was one of the most exciting Halloween Shows I've been to/ participated in. I think they are so much better when you are part of them! When's the next show?
I think my purchase has just been made better. You all did a nice job with the recording of your album. I enjoyed listening to it. I see the picture you are talking about, and boy does that bring back memories. I remember putting on the bad ass Jason outfit and dancing like a killer! What a great night. Thanks again. I look forward to seeing you all play again soon!
I had an amazing time last night at JJ's watching you all play. I'm glad I got to see you all finally! The mustache was twitching with excitement. Thanks for the tunes!
