St. Elmer’s Fire plays a variety of Bluegrass, Gospel, Swing, and Americana Music. The band is comprised of Randy McSpadden on Guitar/Vocals, Jim Harris on Mandolin/Vocals, Tom Price on Banjo/Vocals, and Matt Hayes on Bass.
The unique name of our group is in honor of our long time friend and musical mentor the late Elmer Jones of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Elmer is responsible for introducing Bluegrass Music, providing musical instruments, providing positive influences and transporting many young and aspiring Bluegrass musicians since the early 1970’s. Elmer Jones was truly St. Elmer, in every since of the word.
The members of St. Elmer’s Fire hope to keep Elmer's musical fire ablaze.
