I've adopted as our theme song, Melissa Etheridge's "I Run For Life." This song was originally written for breast cancer, but it is just so powerful. I love Melissa's music, and I do love this song!

The Foundation hasn't really "adopted" any favorite movies -- although, "Lorenzo's Oil" is a very real portrayal of Lorenzo's struggle with ALD, and how my friend, Augusto and Michaela fought to save his life.

Welcome to The Stennis Foundation's Myspace site! We are a registered nonprofit organization, in accordance with IRS code, section 501(c)(3). We raise money, and send it to various research projects. Currently, we support research at Duke, Kennedy Krieger, and San Raffaele Institute in Milan, Italy. We will make a difference, and we will bring an end to these insidious diseases known as the Leukodystrophies!
Do you have old cell phones - that no one is using - lying around the house? If so, please consider sending them to The Stennis Foundation! We are sponsoring a cell phone drive, to raise funds for research. I was at a conference this past weekend in Boston, and heard from researchers of various projects, including the Gene Therapy research project at San Raffaele Institute in Milan, Italy. The Stennis Foundation currently supports this research, and we would like to help further it. People's lives are depending on this research.

And we totally depend on the support of the public to keep funding necessary research for a cure for the leukodystrophies.

Sorry, it still takes me a month to get back to anyone. Just know that I am building the foundation from the ground up and that takes a lot of time. I am confident that we have innovative solutions to fight the monsters that prey on kids and that is exactly what we aim to do.
