About me:
My name is Mao and I am a male Maine Coon. I was born in May, 2004 and have the privilege of being the first pet. I was born in a garden shed and the people who owned my cat mom were moving and decided that they didn't want to deal with her or us kittens so they just locked us all in the shed and moved away. 2 weeks after they were gone a neighbor heard me and my brother crying and broke into the shed. Our mother died trying to feed us all with nothing to eat for herself, and us two kittens were the only ones that survived. I ended up at The Feline Rescue Network and was adopted August 2004 by my new mom. I love playing with straws and bottle caps. I even play fetch and will bring it back to you every time! I do not really like other cats, loud noises, or hyper people. Once I get to know you I love to have my chin scratched.
My name is Tobee and I am a male Tabby. I was born on April 21st, 2007. My cat mom was a stray cat that some nice people found and adopted. When they were taking her to the vet to be spayed, they found out she was pregnant! After she had me, my new mom adopted me in July. I am very laid back and love kids. Its fine if they want to pull my tail or lay on me. I love chasing balls, but I would rather take a nap. My best friend is Winston and I love snuggling with him any chance I get.
My name is Winston and I was born in July 2007. Someone dropped me and my brother off in a box at the vets office. They put me in the cage in their counter and tried to get people to adopt me. My new mom and dad were bringing in Tobee for shots, and I reached out and kept grabbing their legs so they bent down to look at me and fell in love. I was adopted on Sep 24th, 2007. I am deaf but that does not stop me from living life to the fullest. I am probably world's most affectionate cat. I love other cats, and all people. I have alot of fun playing with window blinds, flashlights, laser pointers, and anything else that moves. If you aren't careful I will climb in your car because I love riding in the car too!
My name is Buddy and I am a male Yellow Labrador Retriever. I was born on Dec 31st, 2006 and adopted on April 21st 2007. I am very laid back for a lab. I love love love going on walks. If my mom or dad picks up a leash I will run to the door because I just can't wait. I also love going swimming and playing at the beach, or camping. Most nights you can find my curled up in the living room chewing on a Kong or bone because I LOVE chew toys. I get along with any dog, even mean ones and have so much fun at the dog parks. My best friends are my adopted sister Bailey, and Baby Belle who lives in San Fransisco but comes to visit me whenever she can.
My name is Bailey and I am a female Border Callie/McNabb mix. I was born on March 4th 2007, and adopted on April 19th 2007 at only 6.5 weeks old! I have boundless energy and have a new found love of frisbee. I love fetch and will play until I am exhausted. Which takes a very long time! Sometimes I get scared of new dogs so I make up for it by trying to sound fierce. I am still a pup so hopefully I will grow out of it. Even though dogs are not my favorite, I love cats and like to follow Tobee all around the house and nuzzle him. I LOVE all people and my favorite thing is to be petted. I also like hikes, camping, the park, and the beach. And to climb up on the couch with my dad when mom is not watching.

Every day 70,000 puppies and kittens are born in this country while only 10,000 people are born.
2.
It's simple math - there just arent enough homes for all
of these animals.

Every year 10-12 million animals are euthanized in shelters for
lack of available homes.
4.
On average, 64% of all animals taken into shelters nationwide have to be euthanized for this reason.
5.
At least 50% of the overpopulation problem is non-neutered males.
Females can't breed by themselves.
6.
Purebreds account for 30% of all the animals in shelters. "Papers" don't mean an animal should be bred.
7. ("but i have homes for all of my puppies")
For every home you find for an animal that you have bred,
a home is lost for a shelter animal.

Breeding to "see the miracle of birth" demands that you also "see the tragic results". VISIT A SHELTER!

Animal overpopulation has reached a crisis point in this country.

You personally can make a difference by spaying or neutering your pet. It is the single most important thing you can do to prevent animal cruelty!
