Stephanie Carswell was born in Australia and trained at the National Theatre Drama School in Melbourne.
After finishing in a Melbourne run of Chess: In Concert, Stephanie moved to London and in April 2005 appeared in Sunday Night Live at Her Majesty's as a lead soloist (Cats). Later that year, Stephanie returned to Her Majesty's - this time to perform Beauty and the Beast.
The following year, Stephanie performed in The Pirates of Penzance, where she understudied and played the role of Mabel.
Stephanie has performed in concert at Melbourne venues including St. Patrick's Cathedral, Colonial Stadium (now Telstra Dome) and Rod Laver Arena, as well as the Venezuelan Embassy in London.
In concert, her roles have included those of Betty Schaefer (Sunset Boulevard), Christine Daaé (The Phantom of the Opera), Soprano (Lloyd Webber's Requiem), Rose Vibert (Aspects of Love), Johanna (Sweeney Todd), Rapunzel (Into The Woods), Mimi (Rent), Maria (West Side Story), Amneris (Disney's Aida) and Eliza (My Fair Lady).
Stephanie played Anne and Evelyn in the television series Psychic Private Eyes (2006-2007) and Laetitia in Horace and Tina. She also played Peggy in HellBilly 58 (due for release February 2009), Stephanie in Call Me A Psycho, Pirate Party Girl in The Green Fairy, Christine in Ballerina, Charlotte Corday in Histoire de Paris, Gabrielle Lorenzo in Obsession, and herself in a BBC Musical Theatre special.
Stephanie has also been interviewed for both Shanghai Radio and Australia's Vega FM, and took part in the 2006 Royal Variety Performance at the London Coliseum.
Stephanie most recently appeared in Pegasus Opera Company's production of Delius' Koanga at Sadler's Wells Theatre. She also recently played Jack in a tour of Jack and the Beanstalk, provided the voice of a BBC Employee in What Andrew Heard (Tabard Theatre), and is the voice of Charlene Boomerang (Kylie Minogue's puppet alter-ego) for Purplecase Records.
Stephanie is to play Reisha in Pedro Chaves' upcoming feature film Reiki, which begins filming in Belgium in September 2008.
