Influences
My Dad, Meme, (my whole family really) My loving and best friends anyone could ask for, my awesome band, and life molding experiences... As far as artist who have influenced my love of music, SugarLand, Gretchen Wilson, The Wreckers, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, Brooks and Dunn, Big and Rich, Keith Urban, Johny Cash, Jewel, Rusted Root, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, Led Zeplin, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, Frank Sinatra, Carrie Underwood, Trisha Yearwood, Boys II Men, Gwen Stefani, George Straight, Norah Jones, Nelly Furtado, Nirvana, The Doors, Garth Brooks, Rascal Flats... Just to name a few, I just want to say I am leaving many out due to space I truely love music. (and this is in no specific order.)
I really put quite a bit of thought into the songs I chose. I didn't want to be put into a hard shell, I believe that it is important for there to be room to grow. In saying that, I am told I sound like Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland, I have been at times compared to Jewel, Faith Hill and some others by my family, friends, and fans. I am flattered by this, however, it will always be my goal to always be myself and though I may be compared I hope I may also be known for my own style.
Stephanie Hansen has just completed her first year of performing throughout New England. Her shows have included fairs, festivals and concerts, along with show openings for country music stars Sammy Kershaw, Josh Gracin and Lonestar. In addition to repeat performances, her past and continued success is opening the door for many new and exciting performing opportunities including venues such as, Twin Rivers Casino in Rhode Island and the Lowell Auditorium in Massachusetts.
Stephanie has had opportunities many artists would die for. She has been able to record her first CD "If I Had Wings" with Nashville studio musicians Kerry Marx (Lead Guitar), Katherine Marx (Keyboards), Bobby Seglar (Drums), Chris Simmonds (Rhythm & Acoustic Guitars), and Michael Hopkins (Bass). "If I Had Wings" was Engineered/Produced by Michael Hopkins. Two of the tracks, including the title track "Wings" (written By Ron Wallace), were aired on 97.7 WCTY on the Jimmy Lane & Shelly Martinez show, "Make It Or Break IT". Both of the songs, the listeners decided, were "MAKE ITS".
With the help of Rickie Lee of Ascension Recording in Brooklyn Ct., they have been able to put together a 7 piece band, each was hand picked for their individual talents. Now with every piece of the puzzle in place Stephanie Hansen and her band are culminating into one of the hottest country bands to hit the scene. Together they are poised to capture the hearts and appreciation of country music fans throughout the region and country. Don't miss Stephanie Hansen with her "Down Home Barefoot" Country style at festivals, fairs and concerts in your area.
