Stephanie Mainville is a multiple award winning artist who has appeared in official showcases at the Junos, Canadian Music Week, the Canadian Country Music Awards, and six appearances at the East Coast Music Awards. Her 2004 debut album won 3 awards and received a total of 8 nominations.
Stephanie released her second album in September 2009 and it has been nominated as Pop Recording of the Year for the 2010 East Coast Music Awards. The project began with a week of 'live-off-the-floor' sessions recorded in Toronto's legendary Canterbury Studios under the direction of renowned multi-instrumentalist Kevin Fox.
With Kevin serving as producer, he and Stephanie have crafted ten beautiful new songs to create a reflective acoustic pop album.
Singer/songwriter Kevin Fox is well known in the Canadian music scene as an exceptional cellist and vocalist. He has worked as a musical director at the 2006 Juno Awards in Halifax and for the band Shaye. Kevin has recorded and/or performed with Celine Dion, Tom Cochrane, Feist, Alanis Morisette, Chantal Kreviazuk, Raine Maida, Gordie Sampson, Melanie Doane, Jully Black and many others.
Stephanie's debut album released in 2004 introduced her abilities as a multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer/arranger, performer and songwriter. A project that started out as a demo, while remaining a low-budget recording, generated interest and support from established industry professionals and world-class studio musicians and performers. The result was an album that received a total of 8 award nominations and won 3 awards. Nominations include:
2007 Shai Awards "Folk Album of the Year"
2006 ECMA "Gospel Recording of the Year"
2005 Shai Awards "Inspirational Album of the Year" [more...]
Hey Stephanie! Thanks for the add. I doubt I will ever hear or sing "I Feel the Winds of God" without thinking of you. Please check out GrandpaJoe's Homemade Music sometime.
Congratulations on your Shai nomination! I missed the chance to meet you at the Nidus Festival last summer, so hopefully we'll meet up yet one of these days.
