Bio
As a San Francisco Bay Area native, Stephanie Sante grew up in a confluence of cultural, political and artistic influences. Her initial creative expression was through painting in the styles of "surrealism" and "science fiction". Both styles exemplified an atmospheric quality that would later carry over into her music projects. With a promising path ahead of her in Fine Arts, Stephanie's love for music surpassed her love for painting. As a music major in college she studied Piano Performance. After college she developed a love for guitar which lead to the Conservatory of Guitar and Voice, Salt Lake City, Utah, where she studied Classical and Flamenco Guitar for two years under the stewardship of Concert Classical Guitarist Lamar Eskelson. Soon her focus diversified to include Jazz, Bossa, Electronic and Ambient styles of music. Her first solo release titled: "Into Light" garnered critical acclaim in 2000 from New Age Voice for "Winner Radio Airplay" and finalist "Best New Age CD". In early 2001 Sante Music released, "Immaculate Conceptions", which exemplified her ability to layer exotic sonic textures. In late 2001 her 3rd release, "Inner Beauty", was NAV's finalist for "Best New Age/Electronic/Space CD". After the release of "Inner Beauty" Stephanie broadened her scope of composing to include a multitude of influences from NuJazz to Bossa to Chillout. She is a multi-instrumentalist who plays a variety of acoustic and electric guitars, midi-guitar and keyboards. Her 4th release, "Coffee Culture", introduced a mix of chilled grooves stylistically covering Lounge, NuJazz, Bossa and World Beat. Coffee Culture was awarded "Best Concept Album" by Muse's Muse in 2005. In 2007 Sante Music released her 5th project, "Shine", continuing to focus on a blending of NuJazz, Lounge and Ambient textures with Jazz and Bossa flavors. "Prismatic", Stephanie's 6th project, was released on July 1st, 2010. Inspired by the beauty and wonder of the great Pacific Northwest, "Prismatic" captures the spectrum of sensuality, romance and excitement that defines the lush Northwest, blending stylistic aspects of Electronic, NuJazz, Chillout, Ambient and Bossa into a prism of sound. Stephanie continues to pursue her interest in Surrelistic/Science Fiction digital art and creates the designs and layouts for her cover art. Her work has been published by McGraw Hill and Wiley Books. Stephanie currently resides in Bouder, Colorado. -

Prismatic Reviews
Prismatic is Stephanie Sante's best work to date and bears all the fine qualities of a great chill-out CD. From the first note when popping in the disk to the very last, it is a smooth and consistent journey through lush soundscapes. ~ QT/Groovera
This is Stephanie Sante's 6th Chillout release to date. Prepare to take an audio journey from the urban corridor to the tranquil shores of the Pacific Northwest, the muse for Ms. Sante's new release, PRISMATIC. Capturing the sensuality, romance and excitement that defines this lush part of the west coast. This deep musical expression offers up 9 relaxing tracks that blend stylistically together embracing elements of Electronica, Nu Jazz, Chill, Ambient and even Bossa to create a prism of sonic goodness that’s intended to nurture and stir the human spirit. Sante, a native of the San Francisco Bay Area, known to arouse creative freeness, started her artistic journey as a painter… today, she lives in Boulder, CO and focuses much of her time on her music and Surrelistic/Science Fiction digital art (her work has been published by McGraw Hill and Wiley Books). PRISMATIC… reflecting musical rays of light and enveloping this listener in a sensual blanket of imagination! ~SANDY SHORE
“... if Prismatic doesn't place her squarely on the national radar in the Nujazz or chill-out realm, I don't know what will. Prismatic is easily the finest music she's released and it should land her a lot of new fans.
On Prismatic, Sante is in full command when it comes to layering rhythms alongside her guitar and keyboards with skill and artistry. She plays the guitar in a variety of styles with talent and flair to spare and her drums and beats, in particular, have noticeably improved. Technically, the recording is as good as the music (the artist produced the CD and co-engineered it with her partner, Anne McGlochlin).
When you feel like you need a spark of energy, something to make you want to get up and get your groove on, or even if you just want some tasty (and tasteful) tuneage to brighten your day, grab Prismatic and fire it up. It'll surely help you get your mojo back on track.” - Bill Binkleman, Zone Music Reporter
