Steph grew up studying classical piano and classical sax in Irvington, NY. She has performed with various jazz combos throughout New York City, at BB King's, Cleopatra's Needle, The Cutting Room, The Garage, Ka've'haz, The Knitting Factory, and the Tribeca Rooftop. She has also performed at Carnegie Hall and Shea Stadium, and during the summer of 2007, explored Beijing's growing jazz scene.

Steph recently graduated from Columbia University with a BA in mathematics. She was awarded Columbia's Rapaport Prize for Music in 2008 and 2009. She studies with Ole Mathisen, Pat Zimmerli, Steve Wilson, Ben Waltzer, and Don Sickler, and has studied under Hui-Mei Lin and Jay Berckley. Currently, Steph works at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Second Floor Music, and Bespoke Education as a math tutor.
