Band MembersIf you want to collab in any way, hit me up, and lets make it happen. I'm up for working with anybody who's not retarded. My only stipulation is that you keep the lyrics clean and relevant...about something. I don't do the whole gangsta rap/club hits/let's get this paper, etc. and I keep swearing out of my music for several reasons. Hit Me Up.
InfluencesEveryone that makes classic music. And not merely classics, but music that uplifts the soul and actually means something. Michael Card, Steven Curtis Chapman, Kirk Franklin, Mary Mary, Kierra Sheard, John Williams, Mozart, Beethoven, Steve Reich, David Axelrod, The Menahan Street Band, Coldplay, Keane, Anberlin, Josh Groban, Michael Jackson. There are many more but I'll stop there. I love unique sounds!

   About Stephen Barry
For those of you that don't already know from the big fat title on this page, my name is Stephen Barry. I currently doing my sophomore year at Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, TN. I've loved music for most of my life, but I didn't start creating anything on my own until about fall 2006. Since then I've made a lot of instrumental tracks and have developed some unique sounds. By the way, I do a lot of sampling in my work. If you got a problem with that, see me. HA! I've also been writing poetry and lyrics to go with my tracks more recently. My debut album entitled "Notes On A Revelation" is set to release this fall (Yes, I am actually going to get it out this time around). I've always been a fan of REAL music that glorifies Christ, encourages others, and motivates. God has given me a lot of ideas and concepts and I can't let them just sit here and go to waste. Ya'll are not ready! Stay tuned and let me know what you think of what I've got up so far. NOTE: Leave me all the comments you want, but if you're trying to self-promote yourself on my page, I'm probably going to delete it. Be a little but more personal if you want me to hear your work. Also not a fan of the mass-marketed comments either, so if you posted it to everybody and your momma, I'll probably delete that too unless it's legit. Come on people! Grace and Peace. Yo Stephen,

there was no update in quite some time because I've been busy graduating.

Nevertheless I uploaded two new tracks recently, "Occasional Ones" and "Showmanship."

Check it out.

Peace

Stephen, thanks so much for your comments. Compared to your music, my music seems so simple. I really appreciate the compliments coming from a person like yourself, who is highly talented, and whose music is cutting edge. Thanks again, it made my day. By the way I found a lead guitarist and drummer to take with me to India. The lead guitarist is only 20 years old, and is one of the best guitarists I've ever heard, or played with and I've played with some good ones. Unbelievable, the talent at his age.The drummer is also incredible, kind of like the late John Bonham from Led Zepplin.  I'm looking forward to some great videos coming out of this India tour, playing with those guys. I'm a pretty good musician myself,  but I am truly humbled, and excited. We grow whenwe stretch ourselves muscially and spiritually.   I truly believe you and I will do a collaboration someday. I'm drawn to your music.  But gettig ready for this tour, playing a couple of shows a week,  and trying to finish my new CD, are consuming all my time.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks man for taking the time out to have a listen. It means a lot to me. I'm glad you liked what you heard. I must admit I've been back for a few listens to 'The Future'. Sweet music my friend. That's brilliant your influences are so diverse. It really does show in your music. You know where it's at.

And thanks for taking the time out to look up the meaning of Beannachd leat. It is given from the heart (Brightes Blessings).

Take care my friend and keep that brilliant music happening,

Jamie

Cheers Stephen,

Yes, I think Myspace tends to play up a bit at times. The player loads up no problems when I go to the page, but the auto play doesn't seem to work. I have to click on play or a song to be able to listen to it. It's been like that for ages. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Will definately be staying in touch.

Beannachd leat,

Jamie

Stephen, God hooked me up. He works in mysterious ways sometimes even through old dudes like myself. I'm pretty psyched! It's supposed to be televised.

Geez, we're within eight days of each other! look forward to the album.  All sorts of things opening here, just as well, there's no work at present! It's not so much motivation as runnign out of time and sleep to get things done!

you need to listen to Captain Beefheart! You most likely wouldnt like all his work like I do but you would most likely dig his very first album entitled "Safe as milk"! Its a weird arrangement of folk/blues/prog-rock and no one did that type of stuff around the time he did this! He is brilliant and all his albums are good in my opinion but I like him cus he is odd and the album "Trout Mask Replica" is one of my favs cus if its Combining of blues, avant-garde, free jazz and other disparate genres of american music.Trout Mask Replica is regarded as an important work of experimental music and a major influence in alternative rock. But you should start with the album "Safe as milk" cus its a work of genius!I only own "Safe as milk" & "Trout mask replica" though cus his albums are very hard to find but those two albums are his best so Im very happy to have them!

Look for "safe as milk" on myspace cus the whole album is up on here so you can listen to every song to see if you dig but really give it a try cus their is nothing like him and if you dig it you will become addicted haha

You should also pop in and listen to my new stuff cus I have been a busy bee!

take it easy pal and school is a pain isnt it?Im going to start technical school soon myself :Q( I hate school cus Im going for stuff I already taught myself anyways so I will be a step ahead and hopefully learn more then what I taught myself!

Like the mix/alternation of the industrial beat and odd strings in End Credits, plays tricks with the mind!  The modern world wiping out the old pastoral, hmmm?  Haven't listened to the whole set yet.  Forever is smooth for Stephen Barry! (Smile!)

I'm in the middle of fast writing projects so I'm not in myspace that much at the moment.  New polished stuf should start appearing end September1
