Life is about the journey and music is the medium Stephen Bloodsworth uses to record the experiences that move him down that road. His music is autobiographical yet the emotions within are universal. His songs are brooding, meditative, hopeful, confident. They are songs about making decisions and living with outcomes. They are songs of truth. His melodies and rhythms drive while harmonies float and linger. Stephen's music is rock for the body, mind, and spirit.
Bloodsworth is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee, where he performs often while constantly writing new music. He wrote, produced, and played all instruments on these recordings (except where noted).
Hey Steve, I posted a track from the upcoming album on my page. Its Precious Memories, it has not been mastered yet (the album is still in New Orleans waiting to get mastered) but this is the final mix, let me know what you think!
Steve, My Album is on its way to New Orleans this morning for MASTERING! thanks for all your support on this amazing journey! I hope all works out for you, hang in there, we are all feeling the economic crunch! Keep me informed and be well.
Hey Steve, I have been CRAZY busy with regular work this past 10 days. We are sequencing the album today (not an easy task!) tomorrow we are prepping the files for mastering and then on tuesday (october 20th) I am sending it off to New Orleans for Mastering. Depending on how quickly the mastering guy can get to it and how soon I can get the artwork/design/credits finalized then we will send it to duplication in the next 2 or 3 weeks... so I expect about December 1st I will have the baby in my arms!!!!
Steve , The Spiritual album is coming along really well. This week coming up is VERY important. On wednesday we go in to record again and should be able to finish up with the lead guitar player (I only play rythmn guitar), The Drummer (awesome drummer!) and one of the Piano players... then the following week we have one more day of overdubs and one huge day of backing vocals!!!! We are shooting to start mixing on July 27th and ship it off to mastering by august 1st....... The basic tracks have gone great , live takes with Guitars, Bass , drums and vocals... most of the vocals will be %90 untouched. I am going for as many whole vocal takes as possible... which is crazy since we are only doing a couple takes of each song........ Fun and SCARY... I love recording on Analog...... but due to expenses we have to stay on our toes and be great each take because tape is expensive!!! Hope all is well peace, RJ
P.S. I may be able to put up some samples by the end of this coming week , but I don't want to put too much up until we finish the album... expected release date is September 1st , 2009! CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People riding bikes in another country is gonna keep you under a rock??? No comprende. Keep listening as long as you want. You won't hear an MJ cover from me.
Grazie, Bloodsworth! The webcast is pretty cool, ain't it? I've mostly been playing the acoustic live since November. I can't believe it's been that long! Send me a TN update when you can.
Stephen! I'm here at work having a big smile put on my face by listening to your music!! I'm SO silly to have not made the time to listen before, because you are AMAZING!! Listening to "Fade Away" at the moment... gorgeous! Great melody, lyrics, vocals, harms, produced GREAT.. is it you doing all that great telecaster-sounding picking work??? Can't wait to hear more!! And I'm gonna do that right NOW! xo
Hey Steve, good hearing from you. Things are good, though we have a two week hiatus from the studio :( I am getting addicted to it all, going through withdrawal... In the meantime, playing my guitar and getting ready for my set at Room5 lounge on July 1st..............
