Audie Murphy was the most decorated U.S. soldier in World War II. Though he was only 21 years old at the end of the war, been wounded three times, and had earned an amazing 33 awards and medals, including the Medal of Honor. After the war, Murphy appeared in more than 40 films, wrote poetry, and continued to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
About me:
My name is Stephen Charles Long, I am an international award winning Artist, Author and Composer. You may see all my work on my web site "S.C.L. Mystic Times". I have six books out, I have designed the art for six book covers, not all my own. As well as illustrations for my first two books. I have designed stained glass for some of the finest restaurants in Texas. I also have a CD of my compositions with my arrangements recorded by myself and performed by myself. "Mystic Secrets" Within these pages, a part of my spirit is held. As though a prism held to the light, these words hold truth in my life. Never has my poetry reflected a side of me as it does here. I hope that the reader will find a part of themselves here as well; for it is there in reflections that we see the side of ourselves we usually hide. Perhaps others have seen only shades of our light side, and our dark side too. There in those hidden places we often find ourselves and for a lucky few the meaning of their life. Born in Texas in the 1950's, Stephen Charles Long’s family provided an environment of the arts.
In 1991 he was honored by "World of Poetry" and he was chosen to be included in the hall of fame. He contributed to the Pegasus time capsule which will be opened in 2091.
Beginning in the late 1980's, Stephen traveled from the Caribbean and Yucatan Peninsula, to Canada's great Northwest. During this time he continued to write, true stories and poems of the supernatural, haunted lighthouses, and stories about Inns with a hidden past. Touching on things that some fear to speak of. His journeys through different cultures influenced his art as well.
