Stephen Hill is a purveyor of quirky, understated folk-pop. Built on an Irish urban landscape the songs express the vagaries of life as important sign-posts for our existential journey. Things are never as simple as they seem and the songs are filled with twists and unexpected lyrical turns. Melodies and arrangements are understated and keep the emotive stories centre-stage.
Stephen completed his debut album "Public Transport" in 2006. He is currently working on new songs with the aim of a 2008 release date.

Hello there. Was a good gig. Hopefully you'll have a few more listeners on Saturday. Can't say that I have too much remorse right now, but given enough time, I tend to regret almost everything.
Hey Stephen, It's been a while. How's tricks? Maeve came over and we had fun week in nyc. I'm going to Berlin end of June if you feel like popping over. Big love, Suz
It's sort of up in the air at the moment. Decisions are being made by the powers that be about money, fellowships, visas, etc. So, I don't know exactly where I stand, but so far all speed ahead for September 1 move! Which means you should be seeing me before long. Anything exciting in the life of Mr. Hill? Get any good presents?
happy birthday big man! last week I was in Bunclody then Helen was talking to someone who said she once got lost in Bunclody and asked for directions of people. Then she noticed that the people where orthodox Jews because there is a big kosher meat processing plnat there. Is that true?
Hi Stephen, You'll appreciate this: I recently wrote to this woman just to say hi and she asked me if I would please shame any old friends I have in Ireland to go see her show. Of everyone I know over there, I bet you might like her best. Just give it a listen, ok? Oh, and Happy St. Pat and all that. www. myspace. com/liztormes She is at Whelans on April 9, if you can swing it.
I am glad to hear that you are still playing and writing music! Good luck with your upcoming records, and I hope to see another album in the future. ;)
I have actually spent my entire life living in Michigan and am just in Ohio for two years (for graduate school), so I am not super familiar with the music scene here in OH. I do know of a number of bands who are originally from OH, but that is all I know. :)
yeah im ok, i think i saw you last week as i was heading in to get chips in roma on wexford st but i wasnt in the talking mood. thinks are ok though, any news your end?
In March of 2006 (for my Spring Break), I traveled to Dublin, Ireland to visit my good friend who was studying abroad at Dublin City University for the year. We went to the King Kong Club one night, and we saw you perform!
I thought that you were great, so the next day, I went to the Tower Records store and purchased your album! I also remember you saying that you would be performing there the next day, so I was hoping to see you again (although I think I may have come on the wrong day)!
Anyway, I really like your album! Are you still writing music? Have you made anymore albums?
