I taught myself to play keyboards very badly in the late ’70’s. Nobody else is to blame. I wanted to play like Rick Wakeman and be in Yes. So I formed a band and wrote some songs. Luckily, Brian Eno was a keyboard player, and he was worse than me, so he gave me hope. During the recording of an album at EMI’s 301 Studio, I learnt about audio engineering from a guy called Martin Benge who was once The Beatles tape-op. I realised that playing an instrument wasn’t necessary to make music.... you could tell other musicians what to do. I built a studio and recorded and produced and listened and learned to untangle cables. By the late 80’s music just confused me, so we took a break from each other. The 90’s were a blur of laser lights and fog machines and being immersed in exactly the music that confused me. When I regained consciousness ten years later, we made up and I started again. I now have a great little room in Sydney’s inner city suburb, Newtown (right near the station)... operating as Blue Period Studio which is available for hire along with my extensive experience (not expensive experience) and my extensive vintage gear collection (expensive collection).
If you have a demo that needs some excitement or an arrangement that’s lacking something, or you’ve finished a job and it’s crying out for that vocal overdub, but it’s not worth going back into the studio... then bring it here... we’ll get it right. Work is under way on a few projects with Yes vocalist Jon Anderson (finally I get to be Rick Wakeman) and a new collaboration with former Amba singer, Angie Viner.
Thanks so much for adding me to your "friends" list -- I'm surprised over the response I've gotten from sending Jon a message! I do hope all is well with him and keep creating and composing your great music! I really enjoyed all of your songs....
Hiya Stevo. Yep, I could use some buttons. I'm sure mama told me not to go out of the house dressed like that. ha ha ha How are things matey? The music!!!?? Are you on Facebook yet???
The carrots were minimalist art actually... I had to put a lot of them back in the ground!
So how are you my love?
I've been recreating random scenes from the Good Life at my brother's new place in the Mountains. We bought a wheelbarrow but stopped short of building a car out of a combine harvester... next time for sure!
Pleased to virtually meet you! I'm delighted to welcome you into my circle of cyber friends. Always willing to listen to New Music/Artists. I really enjoyed listening, Thanks! Good Sound and Vibes.!! Hmmm... let me see... you "have a voice and it is the voice of YES"... and you are in collaberation with the vocalist of "THE legendary progressive rock band... YES..." Now who could that possibly be??
Thanks for the request! I really love your sound! Your talent is obvious! Would love to hear more. I wish you the best in all you do and please don't keep us guessing too long! ;0)
