Kiss, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Rush, Frank Zappa, and Elvis. As far as drummers, I'd have to credit Peter Criss of Kiss with getting me interested in playing the drums. I also respect and admire the work of Clive Burr, Vinnie Appice, Neil Peart, D.J. Fontana, and Ronnie Tutt.
My name is Stephen McDaniel. I've been playing drums since 1975. I've been in many bands over the years, mostly in the Polk County area of Central Florida. Some of those bands are Innocent Exile, Alloyd Witch, The Urban Spacemen, Driver, Burn Ritual, and many other projects. As far as the songs that are listed on this site, They are from the now defunct Burn Ritual. "Back to the Beginning," "The Other Side," "Bloodline," and the live versions of "A Million Miles Away," and "Seasons Change" are all performed by Burn Ritual. They were written by Dave Gandia, Tracey Ferrell, and myself. "Blind" was written by Dave, Tracey, and I back in the Burn Ritual days, but was recorded by Maniacal Drone with me sitting in on drums for them. The last three on the list, all "Untitled" were done on my old analog four-track by me alone. As you can see, I need some serious help and input in the melody, guitar, and bass areas. The drums were done on my Roland electronic drum kit. I'm looking for someone in the Lakeland area to collaborate with. Bass players are especially hard to find. I usually don't take people too seriously unless they ask for my email to send me some samples, or have a page where I can go hear some of their material. If you or someone you know might be interested in putting something together, please contact me. Thanks.
Welcome to Theory of Tides crosscurrents of altrock/hiphop/trance.Feedback, tell us your faves. Happy to have you in our Tidal Pool.THE TIDE IS IN…AND SO ARE THE REVIEWS “Mirana’s vocals further establish Theory of Tides as a truly special act, one that can use the widest possible swath of approaches to create the music heard here.”NEUFUTUR “Cool, hip and modern beats are fully loaded on this new album and I simply can’t get enough!” SKOPE “…it’s like alternative trance music, with brief smatterings of hip hop/latin beats. Arty, yes - but does it work? Actually, yes.” EMUSIC “Theory of Tides, and this album specifically, should be seen as a blueprint for how to properly incorporate disparate genres of music into one cogent sound.” NEUFUTUR “…Mirana simply sang her heart out while she meshed in perfectly with Rick’s production.” SKOPE “Karaoke is Theory of Tide’s first bona fide hit that rides a groove while Mirana’s vocals clue listeners into a wonderfully detailed narrative.” NEUFUTUR “Track’s like ‘Elated’ have an Ibiza-in-summer feel and a deep house beat underneath Mirana’s distinctive vocals. ‘Hour of Pain’ vocal fades and quiet bass additions are spot on.” EMUSIC “One aspect that I truly loved about his album was the use of sounds and beats.Production is spot on with Rick bringing his A-game. I heard everything form hip hop, pop/dance, technoish, trance like and tribal beats…” INTERVIEW:skopemag.com/ 2009/11/13/jimmy-rae-flows-along-with-mirana-comstock-of-theory-of-tides
