Originally, "Stephie Rae & Friends" developed out of various jams in North Georgia. Stephie Rae, an original member/founder of bluegrass band Pool Mountain, couldn't pull herself away from bluegrass and blues jams and made quite a network of talented musicians to play with her, including legendary Scott Morgan, amazing lead guitarist of The Barn Rats and Bluegrass Alliance, Sandra Jo on bass and beautiful harmonies, and the outstanding Ross Pead, Peadboy, winner of the 2006 Atlanta Blues Challenge. Ross is an amazing writer and together with Sandra Jo, they formed the fun core trio where "Bonnie Raitt meets Jerry Garcia", dubbed Moonlight Riders.
Consequently, Stephie Rae stays busy with writing, recording, jamming, and performing local events. Moonlight Riders enjoy the intimacy at venues where they play original music and crossover tunes their way, maintaining the integrity and quality of the songs they choose while staying true to their style. Listeners from all walks of life seem to enjoy their groove and enthusiastically welcome their new songs hot off the press and request their old favorites. Stephie Rae has performed live on-the-air for 99X Red Neck Wedding, interviewed and performed on wctv24 show "Living Life with Style", hosted by BB Webb, owner of the luxurious Carl House in Auburn, GA, and live on AFBRadio.us as contest winners at Abbott's Grill, The Red Light Cafe, The Bluebird Cafe, 45 South Cafe fka Northern Star, Eddie's Attic, Chocolate Perks. Stephie Rae is currently developing a cd and tour with her full band and others surprise bands TBA! More fun to come!
