STEREO 8 (BLOWPOP/FINGERLICKIN)
The three members of Stereo 8 joined forces in 1996 when they launched their first promotion and residency at Club Loco in Bristol. Early in 1998 they hooked up with Bristol funk and hip hop supremo John Stapleton and formed Blowpop. The club night now boasts to be the biggest breaks night in the UK and possibly the world, with residencies from Scratch Perverts, Plump DJs and Krafty Kuts.
The Finger Lickin connection with Stereo 8 can be traced back many years to the dark interiors of Bristol night club the "world famous" Blue Mountain Club. The Stereo 8 trio Julian, Simon and Tom invited Soul of Man and Plump DJs to play at night. As confirmed party animals the boys knew they had found some fellow cohorts, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Their first release the double A-sided monster "Groove Diggin/Get above your self is their first production. It has been caned on dance floors all over the world after the Plump DJs demanded an acetate back in summer 2002. Their second release "Cant Stop/Flipmode" has received praise from the likes of Orbital's Phil Hartnoll, the Plumps and Stantons as well as a No. 1 place in the DJ Mag. Breaks and Beats Chart, and solid support from Radio 1. They have also completed a remix of Orbital's first single of their new and final album. Stereo 8's mix of "One perfect sunrise" has received huge support from the likes of Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo as well as breaks legends such as Hybrid, Lee Coombs and the Plumps.......
In addition to holding down their Bristol residencies at the Bristol Academy and Level, Stereo 8, who describe their style as "Speed Funk" are now be booked to play at events all over the World. They have completed a tour of Australia and have been to Tokyo to play at Club Womb! They have also travelled to St Petersburg, where they played to 10 thousand people in an indoor arena and toured Kazakstan, where they were up for best international dj's in the Kazakstan dance music awards. They have also travelled to France,Spain and Romania (where they played in a castle in Transylvania!!) In the UK they have graced the decks at Firefly/Notingham, Tribal Sessions/Sankey Soaps in Manchester, Fabric in London, Chew the Fat/the Bug Bar in London, Chibuku Shake Shake in Liverpool, Glastonbury, Essential, V and headlined their the Dance Stage at Bristols Ashton Court festival. The boys have also performed guest mixes for Annie Nightingales Radio 1.
Stereo 8 are now working on an Album project set to hit the streets later this year. With a single out soon on fingerlickin and remixes in the pipeline things are looking busy!
Finger Lickin head honcho Justin Rushmore said of Stereo 8, "For anyone who has been to BlowPop or know the boys you will understand why Finger Lickin are so excited to have Stereo 8 join forces with the Plumps, Lee Coombs, Soul of Man, Drumattics, Slyde and Krafty. The family is complete!"

Yes it's all true, a gap has been found in the hardcore raving schedule and, like a magical golden condor egg, 60 minutes of top notch party action have been laid down as an offering to you, the ravers. Hopefully you'll enjoy it, it kind of hurts laying a golden condor egg. But don't think of the pain of the Outlaw, get swept away by the magical wonder of rave. That's enough of that anyway. There's a picture of the cover below with the tracks (all 54 of them) lovingly written on it. Click on it and your download into the world of wonderment will begin!
