The Sound Isn't The Greatest - But We Think It's Still Good
Stem is a dynamic four man group that has taken a rock band mentality and fit that mindset to match the current climate of the music world all the while blending a mishmash of genres and influences into one coherent sound. The emotion and energy pumped into Stem’s music emits the feeling of a rock band while aurally, the sounds of Punk, Reggae, Blues, Funk and Hip-Hop hit just as hard. This Boston based band is breaking down the walls of genre specific music and laughing at the idea of those “lifestyle brand bands.” If nothing else, Stem aims to bring pure, unadulterated, good and quality music to the ears of its listeners.
As opposed to the idea of being a throwback, Stem is filling a void that has seemed to develop in the rock world as too many bands are producing overly polished records. The members of Stem are aiming to bring that essence of passion back which so many of the early 90’s rock bands embodied. Innovative guitar riffs and unmatched drumming are glued together by solid, funky bass lines with angry, raspy vocals floating on top.
Hey oh!! Just checking in to thank you again for the add and the listen. We really appreciate it! We'll be playing a lot these coming months and hopefully we'll have the pleasure of seeing you at a show. (We're in Port Jefferson this Thursday, Boston Friday, and NYC on July 31st.) Our shows are updated as we confirm them on our Myspace. Also, depending on what sites you use, we'd love to have your support on Twitter, Facebook, Imeem, and Last.fm! (We've linked them below.)
Hello Gents. Checked out my video from the show. Came out pretty good. I've got a few songs I'll get them to you soon. I'm using a bunch of footage for a lil video thing I'm making. I'll post that link up here prob tomorrow.
I just had a noise complaint verbally issued to me by vernon police from listening to you guys. They were shocked to see that not only the only drunk person in my condo was me, but the only person in my condo was me. Mind you, it's 4:53 pm. Thinking about coming up to boston for a show, which one of the two on the line-up is best? Contact me via cell preferably.
We're playin down at Matt Murphy's tonight in Brookline, come check out the new band, it's gonna be a crazy night. Looking forward to the Oliver's show!
John & Peters is a 5 x 5 foot bar. Try Havanas in New Hope... its directly across the street from J&P and it can hold about 150 ppl with a good stage set up. I am good friends with one of the bouncers at Havanas so let me know if you need me to talk with the manager there. www. havananewhope. com
