"Stereo Soul Future might be eclectic or they might be a band in search of an identity. I remember seeing them perform two songs at Little Steven's national Battle of the Garage Bands preliminaries and thinking they sounded pretty good, in a retro power pop kind of way. I liked it the same way I once liked The Pills. Tonight SSF open with a song that reminds me of the Beach Boys, complete with sunshiney, three part vocal harmonies. But it unexpectedly segues into this minor chord, heavy and ominous mood that reminds me of Iron Butterfly. As a fan of both bands I certainly don't mind. "The Numbers Are Out to Get You" outlines the soullessness of an accountant's job, set to a Caribbean or maybe ska sounding beat with rhythm block (the singer jokes afterward that we should take a drink every time we hear the block)." - Laura Markley. "Stereo Soul Future incorporates influences of the past into their absolutely fresh, youthful, rock n' roll sound." - Debbie Catalano, Soundcheck

"While it opens with everyday, straight-forward, riff-happy
rock music, Red Tree Music really finds its legs a few songs in. The downtempo
seventh track, "Baby Baby Baby", is a high point; its simplistic,
easy-going guitar and drum parts will soothe your soul and are a welcome respite
from the manic energy of the tunes that precede it. The closing track, "We're
A Rock N' Roll Band", best summarizes the disc, borrowing the guitar part
from Neil Young's "Keep On Rockin' In The Free World" and showcasing
these Beantown rockers' tight musicianship. Sometimes it's not necessary to
create ground-breaking, awe-inspiring music; despite employing every rock cliché
of the past 50 years -- everything from songs about drinking to the dreaded
"hidden" track -- Red Tree Music is a comfortable and familiar album,
more broken-in than played-out. Accordingly, it's ideal for a late-summer poolside
barbeque and will keep the party rocking all night long. Like the pitcher of
beer used to wash down a greasy cheeseburger, Red Tree Music is best consumed
in the company of old friends." - Sam Henry, Splendid

"The coolest name in the local scene." - David Virr, Filter

OOORRRRR we could meet at Hennesseys on a Monday to see Mr. Joe Carson!!
PLUS we could support Patrick at a CASSETTE or THE INFORMATION show!
You guys rock and your shows are always a good time! I'd like to see on myspace some "Frozen Ground", "It's always Raining Someplace in the States", and I heard there's a new jam called "Caravan(?)" that's pretty sweet... The new record sounds great... play some more shows!
Brian, isn't it funny that the picture on this page is only of that funny irish kid when stereo soul future is a four piece. You should stick up for the rest of the band
