About me:
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
Stereotonic is the name for our weekly house club, formerly known as 'Bodytonic'. As Bodytonic became a bigger beast than just house music & started promoting all types of music, we wanted to give our house night & record label a separate name that would encompass all things house. Bodytonic origingally started off doing house/soul/funk nights nomadically in venues all over the city from the Kitchen to Voodoo, Molloys to the Spi Bar, until we eventually nailed a weekly residency in Wax, a cool little underground club in the heart of Dublin in October 2003. After almost 3 years rocking away every Friday in Wax we felt we'd outdone our time there and so moved on around the corner to another lil underground spot called Rogue. Things didn't work out there as we had hoped so we finished up there in Feb 07.. which brings us to our new home, the mighty POD! We're preparing our Autumn release schedule for our Stereotonic label too and have some wicked releases in the pipeline.

Stereotonic Residents are Ben Morgan, Conor L, Dazboy, John Mahon, James M, Mike Black, Resoul, Ru, Steve Egri, Jae Brown & Tayor,

After one year and 2 great EPs that have taken dance floors down all over the world Munich-born Roland Appel needs hardly introduction anymore! His stunning track, Dark Soldier, was a secret hit at the 2007 Miami Winter Music Conference, and found its way into the bags and the charts of the biggest DJs in the world such as Laurent Garnier, Tiefschwarz, Michael Mayer, Hell, Ewan Pearson, Dixon, Giles Peterson, Agoria, Kiki and DJ T amongst many others. Not bad for a debut solo EP!
Earlier this month, he released his debut solo album, Talk To Your Angel, on Sonar Kollektiv; a collection of dancefloor cuts including the aforementioned Dark Soldier and other pieces of techno, house, disco and soul goodies that is well worth checking out.
This week Roland mixes our tenth Bodytonic Podcast, and again, as we say every week, its a top notch one! We only say it every week because we make sure we only bring you lot the very very best! We hope you enjoy it, see you again next week.

Our latest podcast comes from rising Compost Black Label star, Jay Shepheard. His latest EP was a great mix of deep house, italo and a bit of acid thrown in for good measure. We'll have some interview answers from him in the next few days, but right now, here's a little piece of bio.

Jay Shepherd is a new name from the UK who had his first release on the Sounds Like Soul imprint run by fellow Juno Records employee Adam Roberts.

John 'Jay' Shepheard fell in love with electronic music in the 90s when his older sister introduced him to pirate tapes from the London rave scene. This affection even flourished with the encounter of Jungle and UK Garage. Naturally decks and sampler came next as Jay become immersed in this fascinating new world of sounds.

Soon Jay advanced into the inner spheres of the music business. Besides starting a career at the online record store Juno, he worked as club DJ, press officer and studio hand at south London based 'Studio 207' used by acts like Basement Jaxx and Mutiny. His studio skills soon benefited from the exposure at '207' and a year or so later his first releases came out in 2003 under the alias John Julian (first and middle names) on the Sounds Like Soul imprint run by fellow Juno employee Adam 'The Doc' Roberts. At the time his productions were Deep House to the core.

In the years that followed Jay moved through the ranks at Juno and with 5 years record shop work experience under his belt Jay now has a broad influence base for his current productions. These mainly focus on classic, italo and nu disco, US, deep, and acid House right through vintage Techno and the modern minimal sounds.

The incomparable DJ Yoda AKA Duncan Beiny is set to unleash a brand new audio-visual extravaganza on an unsuspecting world, as he announces a countrywide tour, beginning at Oxford Academy on the 29th of April and ending up at Liverpool’s Barfly exactly one month later.

Already established as one of the most exciting artists spearheading the audio-visual DJing revolution that is transforming clubbing as we know it, DJ Yoda has put together a completely fresh set of filmic treats based around his infamous hip-hop grooves that can spin off in any direction, taking in styles as diverse as Brazilian beats, Baltimore Club music and beyond.

Anything and everything can work its way into a mix infused with his trademark movie themes that include the likes of ‘High School Musical’s pop culture (he rocks it!), the cult cool of ‘O Brother Where Art Thou’, the classic brilliance of ‘Taxi Driver’ and, of course Star Wars. Cutting and scratching his way through a stunning array of visual manna the Magic Cinema Show raises the bar for both club DJs and AV enthusiasts, taking the crowd into brand new entertainment territory.

Hey there y'all,

Just giving a heads up about our next release. All feedback appreciated.

Scribble 003: Ishfaq – The Change EP

Scribble Records’ third release comes from the multi–talented musical
nomad "Ishfaq". His debut EP is a blend of broken soul, Nu-jazz and
Hip-hop. Featuring the sensuous vocal talents of Adi Dick, Kissy
Asplund and The Chef, this record oozes soul appeal. 'Change' is a
modern Stevie type affair, while 'Call the boss' introduces The Chef's
raw rhymes with catchy hooks from Kissy. 'Clap that' brings us into
jazz territory with its meandering flutes and punchy Rhodes business.
While 'Acuzion' on the other hand is a spaced out nu-carnival banger.
All instruments played by the one man band that is 'Ishfaq'. This EP
is one for the summer.

Release date: 30th July 2007
Distribution: Kudosrecords.co.uk
