About me: Summer Reading has arrived! Here is what you will need to do:
Step 1: Pick up your very own teen summer reading log from the youth desk at the library.
Step 2: Read, read, and read some more! This year we are tracking number of minutes read rather than having you write book reviews.
Step 3: For every 2 hours that you read, turn in your reading log in order to receive a prize!
Step 4: Check our site in order to see how everyone is doing!
If we reach a cumulative number of 15,000 minutes, we will have a special after hours party for teens and teens alone! Click the link above to see how Teen Central is doing!

Feeling lost about the AP High School Summer Reading? We've got you covered. The following books are required reading for incoming AP English students at GCCISD:
9th Grade: The Old Man And The Sea by Ernest Hemingway
10th Grade: To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee
11th Grade: The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne
12th Grade: Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
What about that Mythology book?
You mean this book? It is Edith Hamilton's Mythology. Here are the sections that each grade is expected to read:
9th Grade: Parts I and IV
10th Grade: Part II
11th Grade: Part VI
12th Grade: Parts V and VII
