The Beatles, The Who, The Kinks, The Small Faces, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, The Jam / Paul Weller, Television, The Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, The Faces, Cheap Trick, The Move, The Byrds, Neil Young, David Bowie, Stooges, MC5, Iggy, The Clash, Lou Reed, Sonic Youth, Velvet Underground, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, The Doors, Cream, The Parliaments, Donovan, Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Howlin Wolf, Earl Hooker, The Sonics, The Ramones, The Soft Boys, and about a zillion others in addition to all of the friends and band members we've played with over the years.
The Sterling Loons formed in late 2002 to work on what was originally planned to be a solo project from singer/guitarist Eamon Nordquist but quickly became a new band. The resulting debut album “What to do in Trouble” showcased their style of hard rocking psychedelic pop. You can hear echoes of the Kinks, the Beatles, and the Who in the songwriting and the guitars are reminiscent of Television, the Byrds, and Hendrix. Their new album "March to the Tune", is a big leap forward - more rock, more pop, and more psychedelic.
Eamon Nordquist can also be heard playing guitar and singing backing vocals on several records by Seattle’s legendary Truly (see www.robertrothmusic.com). Drummer Jeff Brown can be heard playing bass and singing backing vocals on records by the stellar Seattle group Downpilot (www.downpilot.com). The band is currently set to release it's followup album "March to the Tune" in late 2009.
