First got into the dance scene around 89/90 listening to tunes like a guy called geralds voodoo ray, shamens hypperreal,s express theme from s express to name a few.I had a cousin in slough who was involved in the uk hardcore scene{sound corp}he started sending me dj mixtapes on a regular basis, djs tango, rhythm beater, ratty,sy.That was it i was hooked and started buying what vinyl i could. It was now march 92 the prodigy played the point with support djs mickey finn and dublins own banana boys.I knew i wanted to be more involved after this experience so saved up bought decks and practiced. The next year got a co host slot with a few mates on a pirate radio station{coast fm}and started playin house sessions and illegal parties. Then we got involved in a hardcore band between 93 and late 95 in a short space of time together played support for 4th dimension{o'leary brothers}charlie lownoise and mental theo{thunderdome}and N Joi.I had wanted to try my hand at producing on a solo tip but couldnt afford it at the time, then got a job in the chef trade and that took up all my time long hours and workin weekends.I drifed in and out of the scene for a while till 2001 when i picked up mixmag with a free cd The plump djs...who??i thought to myself. After a listen i again was hooked on this new twist on breakbeat,it had everything i liked fat basslines and big breaks but with a twist of funk,it reminded me of the buzz of the early days and kick started me again.started buyin vinyl again and start mixing it up again. Then 2006 finally got producing and pretty much being stuck into that ever since.in 2007 after meeting up with dj o.b.ese and playing a few slots at breakdown nights around the city the door opened for a new member of the set up to come on board and get involved with organising and running the already successful nights.
please feel free to add us on the breakdown myspace.
