I enjoy being outdoors with God's creation hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing from the mountains to the plains, from the forests to the desserts, and from the rivers to the sea.Music
I enjoy various types of music. I grew up with Southern Gospel music. I also enjoy both Contemporary and Traditional Christian music. Although I listen to mostly Christian music, I do enjoy some Light Rock, Country/Western, Bluegrass, and Classical. My tastes are diverse.Movies
My favorite Westerns are "The Man from Snowy River, " "Return to Snowy River, " and "Quigly Down Under." I like most anything with Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood, Mel Gibson, and John Wayne, to name a few. I also enjoyed "The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, " "Star Wars, " and "Star Trek." Who can forget: "Beam me up, Scotty."Television
Books
My favorite books are "Purpose-Driven Life" by Rick Warren, "Let the Nations Be Glad" by John Piper, and "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn. I am currently reading "The Heavenly Man" about Brother Yun, a Chinese man who has endured terible persecution that we Western Christians can only imagine.Heroes
My ultimate hero is Jesus Christ. He is my Lord, my Savior and myKing. Wihout him I would be nothing. My favorite apostles are Peter, James, John, and Paul. My favoites from the Old Testament are Joseph, David, and Daniel. My ultimate human hero is my late Grandmother Ida Bounds. She was a great inpiration. Her music was in demand among rural churches in southern Mississippi. She was an outstanding pianist who was often called on to play for revivals, VBS, weddings, etc. Although she was a widow at age 35, she raised eight chidren, kept a 59.5 acre farm going, and still found time to serve God with her music. She was also an avid reader of the Bible and many other book. God truly has blessed me with a great heritage.

About me:
I serve as a chaplain in the US Army at Fort Campbell, KY. I am an ordained Baptist minister. My purpose in life is to lead people to be devoted followers of Jesus Christ by preaching and teaching the Word of God. As a senior chaplain I have the privilege of influencing soldiers, their families, and other chaplains. My walk with the Lord is my first priority. I enjoy church/chapel activities and fellowship with God's people. I love my family with a passion. I spend most of my leave time with my elderly parents in Mississippi. They are 85 and 87. They were high school sweethearts who have remained married for 67 years. My brother is the director of a mission board in Tennessee that raises financial support for national church planting pastors in southeast Asia and India. My sister is the pianist for her church in Mississippi.African Thunderstorm

Who I'd like to meet:
I want to meet ministers Billy Graham, Charles Swindoll, John McArthur, and David Jeremiah. Billy Graham is the greatest evangelist of our time. Charles Swindoll, John McArthur, and David Jeremiah are among my favorite Bible teaching pastors. I want to meet musicians Stephen Curtis Chapman, Matt Redmon, and Phil Keaggy as well as Twila Paris, Rebecca St. James, and Cheri Keaggy. Stephen Curtis Chapman has such a warm persona in his music. Matt Redmon burns with a passion for God through his music. In my opinion Phil Kaeggy is the best guitarist alive. The music of Twila Paris has been a blessing to me for years. The music of Rebecca St. James and Chery Kaeggy was a special blessing and encouragement to me during my 12 months in Iraq. It is so refreshing to see such pure Christian women using their talents for the Lord. Ladies, keep it up.Details
