Obviously, by this time, you have figured out that I am an artist, so not surprisingly, I am interested in all things art: visual art, music, theatre, organizing art exhibitions, develpoing new techniques for my work, etc. Other than art stuff, my interests include:.. Eating meat and being proud of it; the study of my 2 ancestral languages (Norsk og/und Deutsch); classic American muscle cars; beer; conservative/libertarian principles; reading when I can; self-reliance and individualism; music (you can read more about that below); road trips; meeting interesting people; baseball games (big Cubs fan); football (The American kind, i.e. "real football" - big Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bear fan); learning (at this point I can pretty much call myself "self-educated"). The list goes on. I never understood how anyone can live without passions and interests.

    .. ..
  • Music

You'll never hear me say, "I like all music!". That's not true; if you claim to "like everything", that means you don't really like anything. .. I listen to a lot of classic rock music like Black Sabbath, Hendrix, Cream, The Doors, Beatles, Deep Purple, etc.; I also like the Classic Metal: Motorhead, Anthrax, Diamond Head, the old Metallica, etc.; I very much enjoy blues: BB King, Robin Trower, Muddy Waters, Buddy Guy, and Canned Heat; and I absolutely love Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, etc. This type of music is lots of fun - so that explains the playlist!..
  • Movies

It's kind of embarrassing, but I'm very deficient in terms of the number of movies I have seen. Nonetheless, I have my favorites. I've always loved the classics: "Some Like It Hot" with Marilyn Monroe and Jack Lemmon is one of the best ever. I like cheesy comedies too, and also action. Steven Seagal is a freakin' god. .. ..
  • Television

    Family Guy

    King of the Hill

    The A-Team

    Knight Rider

    Seinfeld

    .. ..
  • Books

I don't read as much as I should, but the books I like - I REALLY like. Ayn Rand's novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged inspire me to be an individual and to stand on my own 2 feet every day. I also have always enjoyed George Orwell, the poetry of Shel Silverstein, and biographies of interesting people. .. ..
  • Heroes

Hannibal, Face, Murdoch, and B.A. Baracus. .. ..

  • Original pin-up art in a variety of themes, mostly classy, cute, and/or sensual...I typically do not create explicit or violent themed images.

  • I'm always interested in meeting interesting and classy models who may have an interest in being a subject in my work, and give models proper credit/promotion. (and free stuff too!)

About me:

Photobucket

I am an emerging artist in the greatest (and certainly one of the most under-appreciated) genres of 2D art, pin-up. I discovered and fell in love with this genre of art while I was in college earning a degree in Commercial Art, and I dabbled and experimented with techniques on the side for quite some time before being invited to show my work in various places, both in the real world and online.

This is not erotic art. My work reflects certain values, among these are: Optimism, Individual Greatness, Integrity, Perseverance, Elegance, Grandeur, Beauty, Capitalism, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. That's just me and my work; other pin-up artists have other influences and reasons for doing what they do, and I back them regardless. I try to be a good ambassador for pin-up art as a whole, and I want everyone to succeed. I mean that. :)

Photobucket

I've had some questions lately about whether or not my work is done digitally. The answer is NO! None of it is done digitally; it's not even enhanced on the computer. What you see online is a digital capture of the original. The paintings are created using airbrush, heavy-body acrylics, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, and metallics.

Who I'd like to meet:

Always interested in meeting other artists, regardless of what you do; models; old friends & acquaintances; Norwegian and German people who will help me with my language skills; anyone else who is nice. I don't bite, generally.

Steve's MySpace Rules:

1. Do not use the words "pimp" or "sick" when you write me comments about my art. Such language will alter my usual sunny disposition.p>

2. Unless you are an art student, do not send me a friend request if you are under 18.

3. We run things my way around here. :)

Thanks for supporting our Troops! I appreciate it and I know our Troops appreciate it. Please keep those affected by the tragedy in Fort Hood, TX in your thoughts and prayers.

If you would like to help us thank those still serving overseas and help those coming home wounded, please stop by the profile, read the latest blog and do what you can.

Thanks again and have a great week.
