My influences are Steve Morse, John Mclaughlin and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but the music that I write doesn't really sound like any of them. Maybe closest to McLaughlin, but still a bit different.
I was born on September 16,1969 in Long Island, New York. I began playing guitar a month before my 16th birthday. After playing guitar for six months, my practice regimen had increased to 6-8 hours a day religiously. At this point I had decided that this is what I wanted to do with my life. After I finished high school in Long Island ,New York, I moved to Florida where I attended community college and played guitar in the school jazz band. Two years later I moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music. I graduated from Berklee in May 1994 with a Bachelors Degree in Music. My major while at Berklee was Professional Music with an emphasis on performance. My main musical influences are Steve Morse, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John McLaughlin.
I have been teaching guitar for 18 years and have been studying guitar for 22 years. I endorse Larrivee guitars, Ernie Ball/Music Man, Dunlop, Seymour Duncan pickups, GHS strings, Mesa/Boogie, Sans Amp, Horizon cables, Soldano, Peavey and Graph Tech and Digitech. I played bass in “Pain Museum”, the new heavy metal musical endevor featuring Metal Mike Chlasciak and Bobby Jarzombek or Rob Halford’s band. I also perform my own music with my 5 piece acoustic world music ensemble, Violet Samudra, in the New York area in addition to playing freelance country, blues and jazz gigs. I make a living as a guitar instructor and session guitarist in the New York area. I also am a teacher for the National Guitar Summer Workshop. I compose music for film and television as well.
