Influences
The songs on this site are previews (in demo mode) from the upcoming album: 'a Story Short'. Producer Steve Negus (ex Saga) and I will be working on the tracks this summer in Canada. A new release date will be announced soon.
It's a real challenge to combine my love for progrock with harmonic, ambient and powerful pop/rocksongs for the album. If I think of a few names I definitely like to mention artists as Peter Gabriel, David Sylvian, Bowie and even Ozzy. But there are also big influences from bands like Saga, Rush, Talk Talk, Mr. Mister. The Violet Burning, Toyah, Disturbed and a few more...
I use to say; 'Seen it all, done it all... got the T-shirt'. In a way it's the truth when it comes to my career as a drummer. Played on the biggest stages with bands like Potboilers and T-Bone but also done small venues and smoggy pubs with several rock, pop, bluesrock and even metalbands. Recorded albums in the finest studios of europe with unknown bands/artists and done takes on crappy fourtracks with very big names I'm not going to mention here. This was my life for the past 23 years... as the noisy guy in the shadows. Despite the fact that I released my first solo album as a singer in 1998, I knew... I wasn't ready for it. Now retired as a pro drummer I have all the time of the world to work on my own music and vocal skills. There's a new adventure for me in it, cause it feels like starting all over again. It's back to the roots, back to the moment I fell in love with the music from all who are mentioned on this page. So my biography starts here actually...
