<THE ALBUM:
"Steve's signature vocal provides beautiful continuity as he comfortably threads together an album combining rock, funk, soul, R&B & folk on his latest release entitled "Groovin on the Inside"
BIOGRAPHY:
"Steve Carlson is a seasoned musician who has lived life and written parables that are almost visual. His own dynamic, combined with that of his collaborators, creates a presentation that brings stories to life."
Born and raised in Southern California, Carlson had a bohemian upbringing in an artistic family. He developed an appreciation for music early on and at the age of ten he began writing songs, playing guitar and eventually found himself performing in local bands throughout high school. Upon graduation, Steve traveled quite a bit until he fell in love with Hawaii where he lived for over two years. It was there that he honed his songwriting and began playing the mandolin and steel guitar.
Currently residing in Hollywood, Steve has had several original songs placed in film and television projects including "Kinda Crazy These Days" placed in the ABC show "Men In Trees", "Night Time" placed in the WB's "Supernatural" last year. One track on the album, "Now That My Love Is Gone", has been placed in the upcoming film, "Be My Baby". Other films in which Steve's had song placement include "Just Married", "Life Or Something Like It", “Memore”, etc
Carlson's new album "Groovin On the Inside" promises to awe and inspire listeners, combining elements of rock, funk, R & B stylings and as expected - poignant and gripping ballads, with which Carlson's fans have come to love and expect. "Groovin' on the Inside" is Carlson's first, full-length collaboration with Music Producer and friend, Darren Sher. When music industry's favorite mixer, Jeff Juliano was brought in to mix each song for the album, all the ingredients fell into place, ensuring an exciting and passionate record that will undoubtedly become an instant classic.
"Though he evokes some of the best singers/songwriters of the seventies, Carlson has a modern edge and a neo-country aroma to his work that sets it apart. 'Spot In The Corner', his full length CD, presents a thoughtful, skillful artist and his backup players."
Hey Steve! Love the new album. So, I hear you're heading to the East coast for some shows? Any chance you'll be in New York in a few weeks? Connecticut, maybe? I'll keep a lookout for those tourdates. I hope I get to see you. Much love!!!
Congrats on the two months top seller! It should just stay there because it really is a great album. All your albums are! Looking forward to hearing new stuff. Cant get enough of the other songs even now!
Just read the bulletin, and can I just say Woohoo! And might I, as always, suggest an option for a stop... technically, Louisville, KY is a little bit east coast, but we're also considered midwest, and if you go by history, we're also a little bit south, and a little bit north... We're the best of all worlds all wrapped up in one city, AND your popularity is growing here, thanks to me playing your music to anyone who'll listen... It's a standby in my car.
Sending Serene beauty~ gentleness and great vibe your way!!!!!!!!enjoy this beautiful day and I will enjoy listening to your songs on your site when I come to visit !!!!!!:)
Hey Steve. Just dropping a line to say hey! Hope things are well in your neck of the woods. Can't wait to see you in September at EyeCon again, and was wondering if you'll be doing another show like at the Social at the same time? Anyway, have a great weekend. *hugs*
I just wanted you to know. That when I listen to your music I dance. When I get thirsty I drink Diet Pepsi and the more I listen to your songs, the more I move to your music. Although I still drink my Diet Pepsi your music makes me feel like I've been drinking Tequila baby!
Damn you and Kripke! You both possess that torture gene. Deans in hell for the summer and "Rocking Chair" never lasts long enough. Love that song so much! Katie
