David Marchant [Courtney Pine] I am a performer, session guitarist, composer, and teacher. I also co-run jazz trio, The Swiss, we have been together for 3 years and have just released a second album to critical acclaim. I have done session work for Joss Stone, Jonathan Joseph [Pat Metheny/Ricky Martin], Channel 4, The National Theatre, Matthew Scott, BBC, Real World Studio, Keith Emerson, KU records, Sony/Universal, Chiwawa Records and have performed in UK, France, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. As a teacher I have lectured composition at Taunton College of Arts and teach music theory through to performance for ISCA Media College of Arts. I graduated from Southampton University in 2006 with a First Class Honors degree in Music. While I was there I was the guitarist for the Southampton University Jazz Orchestra and the University Gospel Choir. Other credits include: Marco Migliari [Peter Gabriel/Stereophonics], Finley Quaye, Incognito, Neneh Cherry, Neil Cowley, Breast Cancer Care LTD, Southampton University Jazz Orchestra, Turner Sims Concert Hall and Mama Stones.

Bio:

Steve Down is a performer, session guitarist, composer, and teacher.

He graduated from Southampton University in 2006 with a First Class Honors degree in Music. While he was there he was the guitarist for the Southampton University Jazz Orchestra and the University Gospel Choir.

He performs original material with Nu-Jazz trio The Swiss [a Southampton based Jazz/Fusion band] and regularly takes composition commissions.

His session credits include: Joss Stone, Jonathan Joseph [Pat Metheny, Ricky Martin], Marco Migliari [Peter Gabriel/Stereophonics], Real World Studios, Matthew Scott, James Lusby, Kat Marsh, Leigh Coleman, Channel 4, Guy Pratt [Pink Floyd], The National Theatre, Keith Emerson, KU records, Sony BMG, Chiwawa Records, Turner Sims Concert Hall, and has performed in UK and Europe.

As a teacher he lectures composition at Taunton College of Arts and from music theory up to performance for ISCA Media College of Arts.

With Katarina Homberg, he co-run Grand Avenue Music, a successful Brighton based function band which perform across the UK.
