heads off with sheer power!” Brain Monteiro at Rockeyes.com describes the band
as “The next big thing” and compares their "unique guitar skills" to
the likes of Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest. With sheer power and precision of
the live performance, Damnation Angels bring energy that cannot be faulted nor
matched.

I told you the guy was good! It was Fred's Mum who gave me the confidence to start taking myself seriously as a musician. My first ever gig was playing bass lines to Fred's amazing [even then] jazz licks on 6 string electric; I was playing a bass guitar borrowed from the music teacher...
I could not hear a fucking note I was playing from start to finish.
Fred's mum, another teacher @ All Saints, came up to me after the show saying that it had been great [she probably knew all was not well on Planet Don, as I was probably going green by this stage and vowing to myself never to try this madness again] and when I told her [I was probably bright red by now, seriously considering emigrating to Outer Mongolia and on the verge of a nervous breakdown] about how I had been totally unaware if I was even playing the right notes. She calmed me down and cheered me up by saying she had neard everything and it had been fine.
I decided then and there that I would not give up, that woman has a lot to answer for. Seriously though, she was great and knew exactly what I needed to hear. Fred said it was OK too, so I suppose my fate was sealed from then on.
I also made my mind up that I would never again be in a position where my amp was in another time zone to me on any stage. At least that way I would always know precisely when and how much I was fucking it up!
Yes, I am also a masochist... But because I subject innocent spectators to my adventures in sound at every opportunity I can get, I am also very much a sadist too!
Hey thanks alot mate, our poor drummer fucked up a fair bit due to his dodgy hand but it was all good. Come check us out some other time when our drummers better. Liam.
Thanx Steve, John & Debs want us back in June and August, so we are just arranging the dates and will post them when finalised. The Swan is a great venue and J&D are really going full pelt to build it up. On a Thursday night too. More power to them. Don.
PS Unfortunately, we are out on the 31st so I can't make it to The Sidings. Break a leg!
