Steve's Vintage Hawaiian Films's Blurbs |
About me:
Since 1995, I have been successfully presenting vintage film programs throughout the State of Hawaii. Many of my film programs relate to Old Hawaii, while others have a "spooky" theme to them. By way of opening lectures, I provide historical information about the films presented.
Among my clients are the Bishop Museum, the Hawaii State Public Library System, the Sheraton Moana Surfrider Resort Hotel, the Outrigger Hotels of Waikiki, and several private organizations. My presentations attract a mixture of people, both locals and tourits. As of 2007, I have presented 134 seperate film programs. For Hawaii Pacific University, I was invited to "talk story" about my Hollywood career. During the 1980s, I was employed as a videotape operator and editor by various producers, directors and movie studios. For the PACE program at Maui Community College, I taught the film course "Hawai'i: The Movie Image." At the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, I presented several Hawaiian-theme film programs and produced the Halloween program "The Vampire Show: A Tribute to Bela Lugosi". My technical knowledge became useful during the installation of the 35mm film projectors at MACC.
