Great Pop catchy commercial radio friendly songs that everyone can enjoy
Steve Heathcock is a singer/songwriter who has just recorded his first solo album. These songs are from real life experiences of me and my life. I have written these songs from a personal experiences. I hope you the general public enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing these songs and having a fab time in the recording studio. I would also like to thank Gavin and Gazz from Magic Garden Studio in Wolverhampton who made the whole experience for me so much fun. So thanks lads. Hope to be back real soon for second album.
Also a good Mention to Mickey Tongue who did all the music arrangements on this album. Has to be one of the most talented musicians who I have ever worked with.
Steve Heathcock is just an ordinary geezer who writes real songs about real issues. Its ok to be different. You can stand out from the crowd. Don't be a sheep and never settle for second best.

2) Steve Heathcock – The Cynic
Steve is singer/songwriter from England whose solo album The Cynic is out now on iTunes and Amazon and Confidential records. With airplay on smooth radio and BBC Radio WM and Beacon radio things are looking food for him. His music has been compared to Paul Weller, Joe Jackson, Squeeze and Elvis Costello.
David Says
There are great melodies and hooks in this poppy tune that reminds one of the best of the best of the past. Steve has a pleasant voice and great writing skills. This sound is going to do well in the adult contemporary market for sure.
Steve Heathcock – Rue The Day
Hailing from Stourbridge in the UK Midlands, Steve Heathcock is a singer/song-writer with his debut album just out. He reckons he is just an ordinary geezer who writes real songs about real issues. Hi sound has been described as classic rock by critics.
David Says:
A simply direct song that drops you into the story and out again with ease. Steve’s voice is strong and pleasant, making sure you get the full import of the lyrics. It has that slightly familiar feel as if you’ve heard it before even tough you’ll know you haven’t. Accessible and easy to listen to.
Steve, along with guitarist Mick Tongue, performed live on BBC WM Introducing on Thursday 20th November 2008, hours after learning that his single 'The Cynic' will be released through Universal in 2009.
"We found out just today that 'The Cynic' is going to be distributed through Universal," he said. "I'm really pleased and excited. It's so hard to break through in this business."
'The Cynic' is part of Steve's debut eight track album of the same name, which he has just recorded with producer Gavin Monaghan at The Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton.
On the experience, Steve said: "Going in for that length of time - three to four weeks - you learn about so many techniques: laying the vocals, the harmonies and all that.
"It's been good and I'm really proud of the album. We've gone and remixed it all and it sounds really good. I'm my own worst critic but I'm really, really pleased with it."
Thursdays 10pm - midnight on 95.6FM
Steve has come a long way on the local circuit, having met Mick ten years ago when both were in separate bands.
"We just clicked right away and became friends," he said. "I write songs about real life stories taken from my life or other people's. I'll come up with the lyrics and Mick puts the songs together. He's very talented and can play many instruments.
"We've been through a lot - busking, playing in balti restaurants. Then we started gigging regularly at a pub called The Mitre in Stourbridge. I've given up work now and am concentrating on this full time. My heart is in singing and that's what I want to do."
Steve Heathcock sent me a Friend request on MySpace. I presume because of our shared liking of The Wonder Stuff. I was in the office alone yesterday so went to his MySpace site and listened to his music. It appears we also have a shared liking of all things 60's and mod-ish.
If you are at all a fan of things like The Prisoners, Making Time, Paul Weller etc. then I advise you to give Steve Heathcock some of your time and check out his tunes.
And when you've been suitably won over you can buy them here
