BIO
Steve Konkel was born June 9th, 1979 in Moab, Utah USA. Not long after, his family moved to Arizona where he has called home since. Growing up, Steve was musically influenced not only by people he met or came across, but also alot of different music on the radio which most nights he stayed awake to listen to, or fell asleep listening to. Steve's mother Jody who loved to sing and was quite good at it, also had a musical influence on him. It was much later at the age 16 that Steve got in to the Electronic Dance Music scene and began to apply his passion for it in some creative form. That form was mixing records. Steve went out and found a couple of home stereo direct drive turntables at local thrift stores. A friend, Matt Spangler (now DJ Matty of Londonwest Studios) joined Steve in learning how to mix records on these difficult yet adequate turntables. It wasn't long before Steve and Matt were DJing at local house parties and throwing there own small dance music events around town. Steve had alot of fun with this but also wondered how all this music was made, where did all of the sounds come from? He soon learned the answer to that after catching a live Electronic act in Phoenix, Arizona. Steve instantly wanted to make his own dance music and started doing so at the age of 17 when he bought a drum machine and attempted to mix beats he made with records. Soon after, Steve bought his first workstation/synthesizer (Roland XP50) and that is when this really became fun and addictive as he delve into the depths of EDM programming, making anything from Psy Trance to Breakbeat to House and everything between. He bought more equipment to add to his music making, eventually switching to software based music programming in 2004. At that time Steve teamed up with longtime friend Wolfgang Sukut aka (Wolf) and they formed a live electronic music duo that was short lived. They performed at Myst, a club located in Scottsdale, Arizona where many Dance Music greats have torn the floor including: Armin Van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyke, Ferry Corsten, Deadmau5, Markus Shulz, and many many more. Steve and Wolf played a few more venues before parting ways in 2006. In 2008, Steve joined the label Soundfreq Music, an outlet in which to push his music as well as other talented artists.
