Steve Kowalski was a band formed in Bloomington Indiana by Tom Shover and Rob Rowe. The band was named after a childhood friend of Tom’s and was a reaction to the names of bands in the town at the time. The y were also known by many variations of the name: The K, The Men of the SK, The SK, Steve Kowalski’s Army or SKA, Steve Kowalski M.D. ( Mod Division ), Steve Kowalski, Inc., The first tape was “Chapter 1: A Time of Trial for an Awesome New Weapon” once completed the tape was forwarded to drummer Pat Spurgeon ( Now in Rogue Wave ). Pat would join a year later and play his first show on 2/10/1988
