'NEW' STEVE LAURY
Quotes from other national recording artists: Pat Metheny "Steve Laury is a Guitar players Guitarist." --- Chuck Loeb "Steve Laury is one of my favorite voices in guitar."--- Joey DeFrancesco "Steve Laury smokes playing octaves."--- Nathan East "From the moment I first heard Steve Laury play, I knew he was dangerous . . . He is an extremely gifted musician who makes great music! We go back 25 years and Steve will always be my dear friend."--- Eric Essix "Steve Laury has set the standard for contemporary jazz guitar in this decade, and believe me he has set the bar very high!" --- Jeff Golub "I’m such a fan of Steve Laury's music and guitar playing. If financial rewards indeed reflected talent, Steve would be a very rich man."
"Steve's records have made a moving and permanent effect on musicians like me." Steve is a guitar players guitarist, getting all there is out of his instrument. In a single song, Laury will play octaves, single lines, straight comping, upfront empressario work and finesse it with a guitar question and answer period. As a composer and producer as well as performer, Steve operates in that rarefield air where composition, execution and spontaneity interact to produce truly satisfying music. He also has a rare ability to keep his diverse musical gifts in their proper perspective. Says Laury, “My whole approach to music is that it should be like a painting. My guitar melodies and guitar soloing are always the focal point of that painting. But all the other instruments that go around it – the arrangement, bass line and everything else – must fit into that picture and embellish the focal point.” And what a focal point it is! Steve’s guitar artistry and compositions have made him a great contemporary writer, guitarist, arranger, and producer in the world today. "Laury has sold close to a million CD’s, also he has recorded eight number one national records in R&R, Gavin, and Billboard. Steve Laury fulfills all the tastes in contemporary instrumental guitar. Sincerely, Alex Wenz.

Thanks for the add, Steve. I just have to tell ya that your 'PASSION' CD is the absolute best smooth jazz CD ever created! I picked up that CD back in 1995 I believe, and have been listening to it on a regular basis right through to this present day. My favorite track on that CD is 'I Like That'. Thank you so much for creating that wonderful gem of a CD! You have no idea how much of a treasure it is to me.

Hey Steve, how've you been? Are you in California now? As usual your music and playing sounds stellar. Reckovics' sax break at the begining of "Revelations" is simply rediculous, I forgot how awesome he is..... Peace
