Band Websiteoh come on, we're still recording on cassette...
Band MembersSteveless/Syd Howells is, surprisingly, just Dan Newman and Syd Howells (despite occasionally sounding as if Genghis Khan and his hordes had just ground zeroed Whizzy's Guitar Emporium, Swansea's most missed music shop)
InfluencesWe like books, art and your hideous and easily pilloried culture... and Syd likes good shoes (he's like a bearded, Welsh Imelda Marcos...)
Sounds LikeNothing you've heard this week, or next week or until we've sent you one of our cd's or you accidentally caught us on the radio and thought the radio had gone out of tune...
Record LabelWOMB/CHERRYADE/TAFFPOP/FUKU/ILFU...
Type of LabelIndie

   About steveless/sydhowells
Safely hidden in their Noise Pop producing factory deep in the Welsh Hills, Steveless & Syd Howells create pop carnage using their collection of 'unusual' instruments obtained from car boot sales and a selection of rapidly decaying cassette four tracks. So far there has been... PLEASE IN THE NAME OF GOD STOP BEATING MY CHILDREN TO DEATH WITH YOUR GIGANTIC HAMMERS (FuKu, 2005) A MUCH GRIMMER PLACE THAN OBLIVION (FuKu, 2005) YO HO HO (a collection of Xmas treats) (FuKu, 2005) THE HAPPY MAN IS A CONTENTED FOOL (Fuku, 2006) TEETH LIKE TOMBSTONES, EYES LIKE COAL - Radio Wales Session recorded for the Adam Walton Show (Fuku, 2006) CUTLERY (our tribute to Ivor Cutler) (Fuku 2006) I WAS A CAREER WAITRESS (EP) - Cherryade Radio Session (Fuku, 2007) They also 'played' (i.e. improvised every single song) Glastonbury Festival in 2005. To date, they have not been asked to return... all cd's available from us (except yo ho ho which is sold out : however the two best tracks from this can be found on the rather wonderful album HAVE A VERY CHERRY CHRISTMAS from Cherryade Records - we're also on Volume 2 of this - and it's a very good album despite this fact). They also recorded an album, which remains unreleased, and which may or may not have the title "I turn over the LP while the dwarf present in the room writes lists of pornographic magazines in french...I then retire to the kitchen to turn the kettle on". Anyhow, you can't have it. Their new EP is called 'STOLEN OWLS MAY DIE FEARS OWNER' and will hopefully be released by wondrous da-da label, WOMB RECORDS in early 2009 - buy it...it might just ruin your life. Steveless/Syd Howells...just like digital recording never happened...and in their world, it didn't.

The HONEY THE DOG'S HOME compilation CD we are donating any profits to local dogs homes. However assuming no one on the compilation has any objection, the first money generated by sales, will be given to a dog called Ozzy who has been on the news in the last few days. he was taken and tied up and set on fire by a bunch of complete bastards who if i got hold of, i'd kill stone dead with my bare hands, and they could lock me up forever, and i'd never regret it. Ozzy only managed to be alive after the electric cable he was tied up with burnt through, so he managed to run and put the flames out. Vets say he is lucky to be alive, but it's still 50/50 as to if he'll survive. He's so badly burnt, and is going to need a lot of special care and expensive treatment. His owners say he is a kind loving animal, who would never hurt anyone. This happened in Bristol where i live! I can't believe it. I sickens me. I DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE ANY OF THE BANDS ON THE CD OR NOT. BUY THIS CD NOW! CLICK & BUY!

Features: Steveless, Inspaceno!, Forest Giants,Das Wanderlust, Horowitz, Watercolor Paintings, Beatnik Filmstars, Hulaboy, The Healthy Home, Idiosyncratic Routine, The Westfield Mining Disaster, Chronicity, Ghosts Of Pasha, Jen Turrell, The Girl from Headquarters, Tiger MC's, Captain Polariod, The Bobby McGee's, Boyracer, Ghouqueu, Steveless, The Projects.

Hello Syd. Good to hear from you. Hope all's well (just like your painting). I have made loads of new music over the last few months. Songs often haven't lasted a week on my profile before I've replaced them with a new one, it's been that busy. Watch my ideas dry up now that I've said that.
