Steve Mason's Turn To Fame
Since the beginning of the nineties Steve Mason has been presenting his show on
the radio station BFBS.
There are 2 hours of rave, house and techno in every part of the world where
British soldiers are sent, including Cyprus.
He started off in 1983 where he worked for a pirate radio station on a ship
anchored off Tel Aviv.
Two years later in 1985 Steve Mason joined BFBS in Cyprus and started what has
become the famous
“Steve Mason Experience.” He then moved on to present the “Breakfast Show” in
Belize in Central America.
In 1988 he joined BFBS Hong Kong. The radio world then became too much for Steve
Mason and
he resigned from BFBS and returned to England to live it up in London. He became
a freelance
presenter/engineer.
He soon returned to BFBS in 1991, re-started the “Steve Mason Experience” on
BFBS worldwide from London and began to feature techno.
In 1992 he was nominated for the Sony Radio Awards. Although he didn’t win, he
did not lose hope.
He moved on to start broadcasting on the station “Green Apple” covering Europe.
He began his first
German DJ gigs in 1993. BFBS Experience was a huge success, pulling a lot of
support.
His first record release was in 1994 on “Think Green.”
“Wet Bits” was nominated number 1 for the week in Music Week by Moby.
His music career was not the only thing looking up his life.
That same year Steve Mason married his love of many years, Anthea.
The wedding party took place at his favourite club, the Cosmic Club in Munster.
In 1995 he released his mix CD and signed a Management Contract with Yenar
Kisla.
This led him to his two-hour show on Kiss FM Berlin. In the next two years he
started his own label “Experience Grooves” and went on a club tour in Germany.
In 1998 Steve Mason started his new label Experience 2000. Live DJ gigs have
taken
Steve Mason around the world from Germany, to Moscow, Cyprus, Las Vegas,
Hungary,
Czechoslovakia, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland and Denmark.
