I hold a B.A in music from UC Santa Cruz. While there I studied classical guitar, composition, electronic music, orchestration and Latin American music. Gamelan has been an addiction of mine for the past ten years. It has taken me to Bali and has resulted in ongoing experiments with electronic processing as well as traditional performance practices with a number of groups.
I co-wrote and recorded "Hopelessly Uncommon Truth" (the first song above) with the group: Foam-X. I am playing the guitar tracks and backing vocal. 4 track tape!
"Chillits Excerpt" is a live track taken from a weekend-long camping/music festival called "Chillits" held in Willits California. The song is an exerpt from the original performance which consists of over an hour of continuous music. The group performing is
Gamelan Anak Swarasanti. I am providing the electronic treatments.
"Black Hole 1" is a newer piece for synth and guitar.
"Korg" is a short synth piece named after the instrument it was played on.
I like your Korg piece: it's like Satie meets Eno, then they proceed to polish off a bottle of high-quality absinthe (not to be confused with Absynth... 4) during the course of a nice meal, followed by, say, apple tart with creme fraiche and maybe some ice cream.
dude -- i was just thinking about you guys wondering what you're up to and it looks like you're playing in 40 minutes, damn, i'm too far to make it, but will have to catch up with ya at one of your next shows! -Adam
You may find this creepy, but when I got up this morning and sat down to breakfast with Echo & The Bunnymen playing in the background, I thought of you.
Hey Stevereno Man! Yes new trax are on the way, but it takes a while to finish them ... you know what I mean? ! Have a great gig tonight opening for Dick Dale! I hope to see you real soon. Hugs, Molly
Hey Steve! Have a great gig tonight! I wish i could be there... I don't have your email address...or at least the one i have doesn't work. Could you send it to me? hugs, elena
Hey Steve. Thanks for the friendship. I had seen your face on various myspace pages, but it finally clicked who you are (since you didn't exactly look like that when we met). That Bordello night was such a pleasure. Hope you and everyone at Vermouth is well.
