This page is here to tell you about the music of Steve Morell and mainly about the forthcoming album „The Life and Death of Jimmy Pheres and his Rise from the Underworld“. It‘s a record of emotions and bad situations that have happend to everyone, as well as all the things which piss us off in life and also the things which really make us happy and the little things which light our day. It..s actually not really Steve..s record alone. He..s relaying a story that somone once told him and now he..s sharing it with the world and its listeners, a tale of what he saw and realised what..s happening here on this planet and in our societies. Thats why the album is called „The Life & Death of Jimmy Pheres and his Rise from the Underworld“. He met this guy Jimmy Pheres and he still meets him at different times, almost part of him, and he tells him everything that he doesnt.. understand, things which kind of go wrong here and everywhere and Steve heard him asking him if he could write all that down on paper. That is exactly what steve has done, written music to Jimmy’s stories. Not only that Steve also started to write and sing about how he met Jimmy, how he pulled him naked out of the river, how Jimmy used to deal with our kinds of societies and his beliefs about it. Steve moved himself into the mind of a creature which raised up from the underworld and meets him just when Jimmy wants to appear. Jimmy doesn..t ask if your busy or not, he just appears in front of you in your head and in reality, he is there so clearly that you have no chance to push him away. Jimmy sees things simpler than we do, kind of like a child sometimes. The Music Steve is creating for Jimmy Pheres is almost without any electronics. Strings, cellos, pianos, guitars, drums, steel, drumtables and all kind instruments are recorded live. He was always afraid to make the album and to sing in a particularly way on the album, but after receiving so much positive feedback, he decided to go for it. However, he can..t do everything on his own but having a vision in his head, he has asked several of his friends who are also musicians, if they would like to play some of their instruments or appear as guest singers for Jimmy and they were all very exited to do so and of course to meet Jimmy and play and sing for him. On the album you will hear members of Kill the Dandies, Einstürzende Neubauten, Warren Suicide, Noblesse Oblige, Glamour to Kill, Jessie Evans, Rahburt Jesus Price, Martin Craft (Jarvis Cocker Band), Andi Sexgang, Carolin Werren on Violin and the Enchantress Monique Pokorna as Lady Pheres, he produces everything together with his dear old friend „Ragnar“ and so far Jimmy is quite happy with it. We all hope you are able to identify yourself with it after hearing it.
