Recorded by Gavin Monaghan (Nizlopi, Ryan Adams, Editors) at Magic Garden Studio, I have to say I'm really proud of it! I write catchy pop songs basically, with lots of nice little tunes. I try and write lyrics that actually have something to say. I've been doing solo gigs around Manchester for a little while and my band are starting to come up from Birmingham to do gigs (check out upcoming dates). I'm a shameless self promoter. I've had a few releases and plays on the radio and a few brushes with celebrities (but the restraining orders make that increasingly difficult these days). I once met Toby Anstis of CBBC fame. I also run a 15 piece samba drumming group called Samba Central in Birmingham and a new band in Lancashire called The Titus Stacks. I'm a multi instrumentalist, composer, music teacher and samba workshop leader (I get kids to hit drums instead of each other). That's about it...really...
Hey Steve! How is life without your Birmingham Samba goodness? Loving the tunes on your page btw, you have no idea how much I want a white van right now!
Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show. Kevin made a little video at my studio last week while we were recording....check it out http://myspacetv. com/index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&videoid=34589518
There are a series of shows in England and Scotland....dates are on my myspace.
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.
