| General | I am interested in all things human. In particular, I love great literature and great movies. | | Music | I like all kinds of music - classical and rock as well as country. Great melodies are like music to my ears! | | Movies | There are too many to mention by name here. But here are a few I have loved of late: "Elizabethtown" and "In Her Shoes." The older ones among my favorites include "Chocolat" and "Bridget Jones's Diary." The interesting thing about these two is that the movies are better than the novels they are based on. | | Books | Goodness! There isn't enough room here to list the hundreds of books I love - lots of the classics as well as plenty of contemporary novels. Just to name a couple, how about "Pride and Prejudice" and "The English Patient"? | | Heroes | Great writers, like Chaucer or Shakespeare. Hawthorne or Melville. Faulkner or Hemingway. And many others. |

About me:
I am a Hungarian-born retired professor of English. My hobbies include - you can guess, right? - reading, but also watching great movies, particularly the kinds of movies that women like. I am proud of that.
I taught courses in composition and literature, including some films at times, for just about 30 years. In my "old age" I am returning to the dreams of my youth and am finally writing fiction, short stories - mostly - for now.
