I recently graduated with an MA in
Clinical Psychology at the Michigan School of Professional Psychology
(formerly known as the Center for Humanistic Studies), my second
master's degree. The first one was an MFA in Electronic Music and the Recording Media from Mills College in 1989.
I've been playing, building and modifying
synthesizers and guitars since 1975. Started out in trumpet in middle school, switched to bass in high school, then added guitar in
college along with studies in string/double bass. Also play a number of other stringed instruments such as
violin, sitar, mandolin, rebab, and erhu.
Musically, I'm interested in the use of
music to promote altered states of consciousness. I've been
practicing daily Zen meditation for the last 25 years, and daily Open
Focus meditation for the last 5. Also using Neurofeedback (also known as EEG biofeedback) myself for
7 years, on others for the last two and a half, I am a BCIA-EEG certified Neurofeedback provider.
Who I'd like to meet: Other electronic music composers and instrument builders, ambient and space music enthusiasts.

It's interesting to read about the more exotic stringed instruments You play... For quite a while I contemplate to achieve something like an "ambient" sound by acoustic instruments (mainly for ecological considerations...), but - frankly speaking - could not put it to practise due to lack of time an money :-( Still, the idea is fascinating for me... Do You happen to know the music of Stefan Micus? He's using some of the same instruments as You for twenty or thirty years - wonderful music (very ethno-style...).

Rio (in case you don't remember) is the actress who played Demeter and was shot in the last episode of inzero, where as, angela was the gang leader of the, um, niobi's who shot her. lol I've seen Rio in other stuff too, so I started the fan site for her. :-)
