Steve was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1955, where as a child he grew up in Marysville. His family is musical and his musical influences were formed at an early age. Steves neighbourhood was rich in musical tallents, his next door neighbour was Duane Pond of the Diamond Trio and the legendary Aubrey Hanson lived just down the road. Steves first public performance was at the age of 12 at the Orange Hall in Durham Bridge. In his early years Steve Performed in and around the Fredericton, Boiestown and Doaktown area. After graduating Fredericton High in 1975 and Moncton Community College in 1977, Steve moved to Saint John where he performed with many local country groups in and around the greater Saint John area and other areas through out New Brunswick. Steve then formed the Highway 40 Blues country group, which was popular through out the area for many years. From there Steve joined the Lost Highway band where he has performed for the last 18 years.
