First and foremost I've played drums for most of my life with regional bands in and around my hometown of Albany N.Y. Nationally touring with Felix Caveliere's Rascals (The Young Rascals) 88' thru 96' and presently with Columbia recording artist Franklin Micare as well as Irish folk artist Kevin Mckrell. In 2003 I decided to start performing solo (guitar/vocal). I was voted Metroland Magazine's "Best Male Vocalist 2006" and "Best Drummer 2007" and was the winner of the 2005 "Music For Miracles" Songwriting Contest with the title " All Over The World". I hope you enjoy the songs posted.
The new album 'Coolgilly and the Freakshow' from Centascope is now available worldwide from CD Baby and directly from the merchandise page of the official website.

Glad you are the Q book . Here is some ink on the man last week in SXSW that I thought you'd enjoy :
Quincy Jones
Austin Convention Center, Thursday, March 19
Quincy Jones was slated for a 75-minute keynote address Thursday afternoon, but he never had much use for constraints or conventions. A full 2½ hours after he started, the coolest cat in the industry had chronicled his life from gangster-run Chicago streets to Grammy Legend Award winner, dropped more truisms than a fortune cookie factory, and had a room full of music industry blowhards standing up and holding hands, pledging to love one another and be better human beings.
Only Q.
Who else could claim to have worked "side by side with over 95 percent of every one of America's musical giants of the last 60 years" without sounding the least bit boastful? Jones hasn't lost his grounding through the long journey and remembers the moment he found music, stumbling across a piano while looting an armory for bullets.
"God's whisper spoke to me and said, 'Idiot, go back into that room.' I let my fingers slowly slide down and touch the keys, and this was the moment of truth for me because every bone in my body knew in a heartbeat that my life would be music forever."
Donning a pair of "gangster glasses," the 79-time Grammy winner lamented the death of the music industry, advocated for a U.S. Secretary of the Arts, and solicited suggestions for a sustainable business model.
"We've tried iTunes and iPods, but we're still getting iScrewed. "
The Craic Festival 2009 has invited FairplayCollective to play at this years Festival. All members will be playing in the round. The show is at The Mercury Lounge, March 14th at 8pm. This is the last night of the festival and Foy Vance is also on the bill.
What more can I say, a great night for music and film, with the odd star thrown in. Come show your support.
A new studio has opened in Schenectady. The former Cat Trax studio on Green St, is now owned and operated by James Krakat and Marcel Roberts. Professional equipment, a well designed group of rooms, and affordability will put this new studio at the top. James is a graduate of Full Sail, and has worked at Quad Studios in NYC. Marcel has produced many local artists. They offer a rehearsal room for $20 an hour with recording capability. Singular songs can be recorded or blocks of time can be secured to do a full album. It's a really fun group! We play a lot of stuff...from Steely Dan to Soul Live to Beatles to Allman Bros. Here's a description of the band (unedited). Still working on it....
Troika is a diverse and professional jazz trio that can play very sophisticated jazz music at length or change gears completely and play with the intensity of a high-energy rock band. We are an extremely versatile group with strong soloists and always deliver top-shelf/high quality music. The three-piece instrumental group has proven itself to excel at an eclectic mix of styles appealing to a wide range of age groups including swing, rock, jazz, bossa nova, jazz rock, Motown, pop, and/or classic standards from the the great American Song Book! And we do it with energy, a flair, elegance, style, taste, and virtuosity! Troika is a well-rehearsed with smart, thoughtful and stylish arrangements often including reharmonizations to the standard repertoire. Yada, yada....we have a book..
