A small sampling would include: My wife and kids, nothing tops that, College Basketball, the Indiana Hoosiers, Theatre, Lighting Design, Arts Management, politics, Democrats (when they actually take a stand for what they are supposed to believe in), did I mention College Basketball, History, Music and much more.
  • Music

Green Day, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Beethoven, Bach, Barenaked Ladies, Dave Matthews Band, classic headbaning heavy metal, Guns 'n Roses, Metallica, AC DC, Queensryche, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Wynton Marsalis, Peter Gabriel, John Melencamp, classic rock, classical music, much much more.
  • Movies

The original Star Wars Trilogy, Glory, Godfather, Godfather II, NOT Godfather III, anything by Spike Lee, Stanley Kubrick films, any movie with Denzel Washington, Scarlett Johansson, Ed Norton, I am a sucker for a big special effects movie, the Lord of the Rings trilogy, the first two Terminator movies, stuff with explosions or large digital armies, all cool. ..

  • Television

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Simpsons, Older West Wing (before Aaron Sorkin left), Iron Chef America, Mythbusters, Meet the Press (I am a real politics junkie), Battlestar Galactica, thats about it, everything else I seem to be able to watch is either a cartoon or made with clay and has a nice catchy toon...Bob the Builder, can we build it?
  • Books

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, other well written fantasy books (there are so few), History books, political books, I highly suggest What's the Matter with Kansas, really just about anything I can get my hands on, until I had kids I would read at least a book a week, usually 2 to three at a time, now of course I am lucky to get in 20 - 30 minutes a day, oh well.
  • Heroes

My wife, Martin Luther King Jr, Abraham Lincoln, Russ Fiengold, Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert, that's about it.

Well, I wouldn't be too surprised if some of the players made their way back to the team (after an "interview" process, perhaps). But the sanctions, yeah...if they're not too bad, he shouldn't have a problem getting talent to come to a place like Indiana, and if some players leave...instant playing time is attractive too. Arcadia is going well, good crowds and responses.

We finish the run this weekend!

Congrats on Crean...does that take some of the bad taste away?

My boss, Doug, is a truly wonderful man. Kind, generous, forgiving, on and on and on, but his command of the English language makes him severely flawed. If you like, when you're back in town, I'll give you a tour of our facilities and we can stop at his office and you can point and laugh. And then he, not understanding what is going on, will also point and laugh. We'll have a good time.

Read this article by Jack Handey. It's funny.

    Dude! Update your profile information.

I'm sorry you had a criminal instead of a coach. They both begin with "C." I wish you had Tubby. Then he could coach his Hoosier jacket off! That would be cool.

Oh, the orange suits! His behavior has been a really great PR tool, and he's a superb motivator. I learned that Pearl only wears the orange jacket at UK and Vandy games, as a tribute to another (perhaps UT?) coach. He'd be great for IU, but I want him to stay in the SEC. Adam seems to think Bobby Knight will be the interim IU coach.
    Any thoughts?

I hope we can keep Patterson for at least another year. I am not going to get my hopes up about UK, but they are looking a whole lot better. The injuries, especially to the face, have got to stop.
Wasn't the marring of the beautiful Chuck Hayes face enough, o ye gods of the basketball injuries?

I'm so sorry that your former coach was crooked, but for your team's sake, I'm glad he's gone. Now how about those Vols?! I just love Bruce Pearl.

Hey, my team may get their asses handed to them in utter humiliation but at least the coaching staff has integrity for the game and the rules.

    SHAME! SHAME!!

(this is all sour grapes, by the way)
    :)
Good picture and quote in that magazine, too.

Now that American Theatre wants a headshot of yours, you will publicly state, "My name is Steven (Sparky McLightQ) Koehler and I hereby state for the record that Hunt for Red October is a vastly superior film than Crimson Tide and I appreciate Rick (Hot Young Director, Vanguard visionary triangle using genius that he is) St. Peter for showing me the error of my ways. Connery could totally kick Hackman's ass and Scott Glen's sub would blow Denzel's sub out of the water. I apologize for any confusion my wayward antics may have caused. You may go on with your lives now.
    "

    I'm waiting...HA!
  • Nov 27 2007 7:57 PM

That's it Koehler, no American Theatre interview for you!!!
  • Nov 27 2007 7:23 PM

I can just see I'm going to have to have Baldwin give you a call and leave you a voice message...plus Principal Rooney is looking for babysitting jobs these days and you got kidzzz...
  • Nov 27 2007 5:34 PM

A Lituanian sub captain with a Scottish accent is quite the remarkable feat of acting...not something you see every day...that is what makes Red October vastly superior to Crimson Tide...plus that Baldwin is a leftwing looney like yourself, I would think that would earn him some points right there...And principal Ed Rooney from Ferris Bueller and Darth Vader are significant players...all in all it is a vastly superior sub movie and I will not argue about this...

    Thanks for being a friend.
I wish you laughter, bravos and fabulous lighting!
