Movies. I like to make them. I also like to watch them. Talking about them can be fun too. Watching people make movies is a good time as well. Watching people talk about movies....not so much.
Music
Movie music. The soundtrack for "The Last Samurai" is very relaxing...especially when you know it's at the part when Tom Cruise gets beaten with a stick.
Movies
Robot Jox, Guyver 2, Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Evil Dead, Aliens.......those are all I can make out on the shelf right now.
Television
Masters of Horror.
Books
H.P. Lovecraft. I also have this awesome book on Takeshi Miike. He's the hardest working director on the planet.
Heroes
Writing about myself isn't as much fun as I thought it would be. Oh, and Captain Ron is my hero, because the movie was based on a true story. I know, I didn't believe it either at first.
About me: Shot with Canon EOS 5D at 2007-07-01
Steven Kostanski was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and has been making films since he was 12 years old. His earliest films were stop-motion animated on a super 8 camera that he borrowed from his dad, which he would later project for his family and friends. Though his tools have advanced over the years, Steven has not lost any of his interest in the spectacle of film, which to this day is the primary driving force behind all of his work. Steven has been fascinated by movies since a very young age, and has dabbled in many aspects of production. Along with animation, he also pursues makeup effects artistry as a hobby and occasional part time job, along with directing independent live action films. Steven also studies film at the University of Manitoba. He recently completed his first feature film, entitled “Love Journey” which is a combination of live action and animation. Apparently, he also likes to write about himself from a 3rd person perspective.
You still like YouTube? Don't forget to upload all your goodies to BDTV, it doesn't even have to be horror! I hope all is well and we thank you for your support all of these years.
Thanks for the view :)
I just watched Karl again, honestly man, flawless victory (even the audio was awesome)...you really used the medium to its fullest...
I'm sure you had to do a bit of composting on Karl as well...honestly, its all fun and games when you do your own shit...but I'm afraid I won't be driven enough to make quality work if I'm hired to work on something I dont feel passionate about...
...that is, if there are any jobs left in the Canadian industry, hehe...
I have hope for the internet though...I've been going to school for television, but I think its crap. If you didn't check out "Deceptive Truth", its probably my most ambitious project...
Hey Steven, Unfortunatly due to isolation my movies will have a hard time reaching you. I am planting trees for the material world and thus I have little contact with the outside world. Hopefully, you will see my movies on the A channel, someday! Keep me posted on your premires, I would love to attend,
heather

Hey pretty good man, we just shot some more stuff on easter weekend, I will hopefully be able to send you some stuff after the 16th (which was originally the deadline) but it seems to be a larger project than anticipated, the good news, there will be no real deadline for adding the sfx. I'll keep you posted.
By the way, did you see Grindhouse yet? you better have, I think I'm going for round 2 this weekend.
Hey Steve! I don't know if I got to tell you at the time, but Love Journey rocked. And it's nice to see someone else who likes Rue Morgue! Ever since I found it a couple of months ago, I've been addicted.
