About me: A top graduate of The Long Ridge Writers Association in Stamford Connecticut, I established myself with published works in The National Library of Poetry and short stories in New Blood & Weird Tales magazine at age 25. My debut novel “Rituals of Terror” was published in 1995, but never released as the publisher went under. A decade later the original is republished and finally released in 2005. The Banished was my second novel and first complete theme one. The Dark Art of Wonder” is my latest theme collection of nightmarish tales to the original novel of intertwining short stories.
I am the Chief Editor/Moderator for SNM Horror Magazine, which is a sepculative horror magazine dedicated to the art of dark literary fiction. We publish monthly and are FREE to the public. We feature 8 new author short stories per month and conduct exclusive author interviews. We also have a new section called SNM Goth Covergirls, dedicated to the dark art of alternative Goth models. We generate about 2000 visits per month and have been rated the #2 free online horror mag of 2008 by the Associated Content.
We released our debut horror anthology called "Bonded By Blood" SNM Horror Anthology, now available on Amazon and B&N.com, featuring the best stories of SNM Horror Magazine.
The next follow up anthology will be published in January 2010, entitled Bonded By Blood II: A Romance in Red. It features only the Stories of the Month over the last 18 months.
I was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1970 and residing in Florida with my wife, Samantha, who is my copy editor. According to New Blood & Weird Tales Magazine “If Stephen King is the emperor of horror then Marshall is the law.” My style is actually more in the tradition of a modern-day Poe or Lovecraft, where the darkest horror is in the mind. My stories are likely to darken your daydreams, illuminate your nightmares and leave your mind disturbed...Yes, SNM is also my initials: Steven Nicholas Marshall.
Who I'd like to meet: I'd like to "hash" it out with Edgar Allen Poe or have a philisophical discussion with Albert Einstein. As far as writes I'd like to meet Thomas Ligotti or Clive Barker. Maybe have a conversation with death? Or just create a split personality and have some inner debate with myself so I never get bored! Hmmm. Wait, I'm thinking out loud again!
The Halloween Episode is available. "Madness in the Blood" Put in a plug for you all in the podcast as I was a fan long before I started it. You guys truly do a good job and I just wanted to let you know it is appreciated.
