    Steven Pirie's Interests
Music Oh, I'll listen to anything and everything except opera, particularly the male voice in opera. Other than that I'll listen to and enjoy practically anything.

Movies Favourite films?

A Fish Called Wanda.
The Life of Brian.
Coming to America.
Trading Places.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.

Television I don't watch too much television. When I do I like comedies, documentaries, current affairs. Can't stand soaps and reality shows.

Books Favourite books apart from my own, you mean? :-)

I love Storm Constantine's work. I have everything Terry Pratchett's ever written, and all Douglas Adams' works.

I enjoyed Oliphan Oracus, by Neil Robinson, and Hinterland, by David Barnett.

I'll read anything that has a humorous slant...

Heroes You... for stopping by and reading so far!

About me:

www.stevenpirie.com

I'm an author living in Liverpool in the United Kingdom. My debut novel, Digging up Donald, was published in 2004 by Immanion Press and has since enjoyed very positive reviews. Below is the new cover for the paperback version released by Immanion at Fantasycon in September 2007.

"It was biscuits at ten paces..."

To read the first chapter of Digging up Donald click here.

To read reviews of Digging up Donald click here or here or here or, indeed, here .

Details of how to buy Digging up Donald may be found on my website listed above, or here at Amazon.co.uk , or, in the US, here at Amazon.com

I've published quite a lot of short fiction at various places around the world.

Details of all these and more are on my website at

www.stevenpirie.com

Who I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the pope, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Maggie Thatcher, George Bush, Tony Blair, Saddam Hussein, Adolf Hitler, Alexei Sayle, the Bishop of Bath and Wells, Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, and someone named Trevor... all of them in the one room at the same time would be fun.

I think it would be nice to share a hot tub with Charlotte Church, Jennifer Aniston, and the Sugababes. Possibly, I've more chance with the first bunch, even allowing for at least two of them being dead.

Chicks Dig Scars - Chapter One

Chicks dig scars, everyone knows that, right? Meet Severence DeSnappio, a man who creates ‘fake’ injuries for desperate clients. He’ll get you a stab wound, shot gun blast, snowboarding injury - but a bite from a great white shark?

S
et in Miami, Chicks Dig scars is a lyrical, Lynchian mix of dream logic and hard boiled detection.

Hi! Just wanted to make sure all my friends know that my 2nd horror novel SACRIFICE is now in stores everywhere, including Amazon.com! I hope you'll check out this debauched and demonic horror ride! Here are a couple reviews it's gotten so far:

“SACRIFICE is a full frontal assault on your senses. It is a dark, brutal, bloody and terribly frightening book. Everson went deep into some dark abyss to bring this book to the light of day.... I highly recommend SACRIFICE.”
—Famous Monsters of Filmland

“John Everson manages in SACRIFICE to dispense buckets of blood, provide edgy perversity, and walk the tenuous tightrope of horror and sex without falling: It’s rather an amazing feat.” –Hell Notes

I’m rather excited because I have a small part in an upcoming film based on Steve Aylett’s book LINT. Remember how “Spinal Tap” was a spoof on Heavy Metal bands and “The Ruttles” was a take-off on The Beatles? Now, Science Fiction has LINT!

Here’s the trailer:
